@@fablesofsilence I know it is on purpose. But it shows the greed that the new owners of Buchla have. They don't even understand Don's design philosophy. Have not released a single new module for the 200e series. No innovation. Just milking existing products. All the innovation is coming from 3ed party developers.
To release new 200e modules, you need cash. There was precious little of it when Eric took over Buchla. That Buchla is still alive after the last couple of years is a testament to Eric having generally made the right decisions. This has nothing to do with greed and everything to do with survival. If his strategy works out, and I think we are starting to see it does, new 200e modules will follow eventually. However - I assume - and I might be wrong here - that the 200e isn’t exactly a mass market product. That’s why starting with things like the Easel command was the best option.
@@fablesofsilence It is nice that Buchla is still around although the spirit is not alive. Charging $1,199.00 for a 292e Quad Dynamics Manager is nothing short of ridiculous Charging a thousand dollars for the reissue (a design that has been around for decades) is insane. Other manufacturers have shown that you can produce the same modules at a profit and at a fraction of the cost without compromising on quality.
