Anyone without a generator and/or a small air conditioner along the gulf coats is just nuts. You can get a new generator and window unit for under $900 and be fine for all future storms and outages.
A good reason to buy a whole house generator. I have one, which is maintained by the company I bought it from. I have to use it ordinarily about twice a year hear in NE Texas. Well worth it.
This is just crazy man , I've already given up hope that we're going to get power on Wednesday. But I guarantee you if we were late on our power bill they would cut it off and would not accept a text message from us saying I will pay you tomorrow.
@@marypurifoy3582 It actually is, Republicans allowed these monopolies into our system. The lack of competition caused by the monopolistic behavior that has been allowed by Republicans has a direct correlation. We need strong politicians that will hold Center Point accountable to the public, since its not like we can chose a different power provider. This was very vident during the ice storm as well, center point will cut as many corners as they can to save money, hell they don't even have a communications team,, they got drilled last night in the interview with Bill. High prices sup par service.
Everybody, buy a generator and a window AC unit at least for emergencies. After Covid hit, I have stocked up on food, toilet paper, and water just in case something happens again.
It took a week and a half in iowa a few years ago, and that was with a competent power company. You guys are probably going to be out for a few weeks down there if you're lucky
Come on people. It is going to take time to get ALL the power back on. Not that I am supporting Center Point but they do not have enough manpower to get everything back to a semi-normal. I think that Center Point needs to cancel all the bills for these people for this month and I feel that would show that Center Point does care about their customers but let's face it, they don't really, all they want is they money. Center Point has done very little in the way of upgrading the grid around Houston just like all the other power companies. So as they say "cowboy up folks" it is going to a rough summer for everyone.
