i was almost nine when elf came out & that was how i first heard of him :( then i rented up in 2014 & loved it. im glad he could play carl in dug days b4 he died. it premieres on disney+ on wednesday & im excited. r.i.p. ed aka carl :( hes definitely gonna watch it with ellie in heaven

RIP Ed Asner! At 91 years old, he left an amazing legacy in voice acting and entertainment! My personal favorite roles were Jonah Jameson, Ed Wuncler, and Carl Frederickson.

My Favorite roles: J Jonah Jameson, Hudson (Gargoyles), Mike Cosgrove (Freakizod,) other mentions I've seen him are the Garage sale Bear from Animaniacs, Roland Daggett from 90s Batman and Greedly from Captain planet.

Ed Asner is definitely one of my favorite voice actors; he has such husky and commanding voice that instantly gives him authority without being too over-the-top, but at the same time he can have that calm grandfatherly voice as heard in "Up"

Man, this dude did anything and EVERYTHING; Kids shows, adult toons, heroes, villains, masterpieces, and schlock. If a cartoon needed an old man character, he was there to do it.

And they're with Charles Muntz too. Even though his character turned out to be evil I'm sure Ed and Christopher are happy to be together again in the heavens and I know God will take very good care of them.

im glad he could still play carl in dug days b4 he died. i was soooo damn excited when it started last month on the first & i bet so was he. he definitely watched it with her in heaven. theyre probably looking down on dug, russell & kevin right now

I love Ed Asne since my childhood with lovely 1990s era, he my J. Jonah Jameson of my lovely's 90's Spider-Man. Thank you very much Saturday Morning Rewind for beautiful and wonderful memories of my lovely 1990s and 2000s times. My god, I had no idea he voiced most of my childhood. Hudson, Jameson, Simpsons characters, Master Vrook, Scowl. Though he uses the same voice for every single one, it is still very distinctive and I always enjoyed hearing his characters talk.

Fun fact: Lou Grant was a drama and spinoff of the comedy Mary Tyler Moore Show. Ed was one of several classic comedians who starred in hit dramas as well.

It's sad for his family and fans. He lived to be 91 so that's good. Reaching your 90's now is awesome in this dangerous world. My favorites had to be UP and Spider Man. Not familiar with the other projects he was in.

Ed Asner also voiced Mr. Voorhes, an old guy on The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy, "Grim for a Day" when Billy and Grim swap roles for the day. He's the guy who takes a really long time getting to his door, and when he does, he mistakes Billy for a Trick or Treater.

"You know what, you've got spunk- I hate spunk" Lou Grant- BTW, you would never hear that from J. Jonah Jameson. Ed Asner voiced a lot of cartoon characters over the years- my favorite is obviously Hudson, he counsels Goliath, especially in battle with the Quarrymen or the Pack in Gargoyles. He actually served as Hal Smith's alternate as Flintheart Glomgold in the original DuckTales!!!
