Nah, Jinshi totally stole one of those chocolate treats If you notice, Maomao made like 9 of them, the ladies in waiting each ate one, leaving 6, and after Jinshi leaves you see 5 on the plate

Haha, yeah one of the main attractions of this show is the chemistry between Jinshi and Maomao. Hard to say anything about Jinshi without spoilers but for now and future, he is Maomao’s firm ally. He just acts like that for amusement. However Maomao being Maomao, doesn’t like to ask for help and is still distrustful of Jinshi due to his conniving behavior. Even when there are times things could be easier for her if she asked for help, and Jinshi is just dying to be of use to her. But watch out though, you will see some of the genuine Jinshi soon enough. And it will make you go SQUEEEEEEEE!!! Haha, hope you don’t regard that as too much of a spoiler.

There's been some discussions on this. The chocolate nuts or whatever were likely intended for the emperor. Jinshi pocketed the one he picked up, bringing attention to it as a distraction. He probably planned to use it on whoever was causing him trouble.

@@Ncyphen that would become very sticky, since she made something similar to mochi covered in chocolate. And he locked the door not wanting that certain person visiting when Maomao mentioned it 😂

@@moondaughter1004 basically there are multiple different categories a manga can fall into based on which demographic it targets : Shonen (generally aimed at teens), Shojo (manga generally aimed at girls) and Seinen (Adults/young adults) or Josei (aimed for Adult women) Seinen manga generally is more mature and delve into more adult themes and doesn't necessarly follow your typical shonen storyline, the category a manga falls into depend on which magazine or publisher is serializing the manga (for example shonen jump magazine for shonen manga, Bessatsu Margaret for Shojo, Monthly Afternoon for Seinen,...) nowadays these categories aren't clear cut and you can find very adult mangas published in shonen magazines (like AOT for example) but it is still a good indicator to know.

It wouldn't call it a seinen either. The original story is a Web novel turned light novel. The best description is historical fantasy

Kinda, kinda not. The source material is light novel, not manga. Categories like shounen, seinen etc don't apply to light novels. If we start using those categories even when the manga is just an adaptation, then that would also make both Cowboy Bebop and Code Geass shoujo because their manga adaptations were in a shoujo magazine.

​@@IcapicaIndeed. There are pure romance light novels out there, clearly targeting a female demographic, but it is still inaccurate to use the manga designations. This is historical fantasy, set in a fictional China. Pretty common setting, to be honest.
