at this point in the series (no spoilers past this point): The evidence suggests at least that the baby Ah-dou had (which was the current emperors son), 1) was swapped with the former emperors mother baby before death. So 2) if thats true, then the one currently considered to be the current emperors little brother is actually the current emperors son. 3) And there certainly is a suggestion that Jinshi is the son of Ah-duo. Who knows the truth of this is mostly the point of contention at this point in the story. 17 years ago was when the swap happen, not when they were born. + 9 months means they were swapped at age 1-1.3 years old.

Jinshi age get revealed close to the end of the show. but, Maomoa age revealed at the start of the show. and, most people did not notice the time passing in the show, like between each event they tell you a few months passed so a whole year passed by the end of the show. If he was borne 17 years ago that makes him 18. If the show take a whole year in season 1 then he will be 19 near the end of the show. Kindaa same with people not putting together the age of other characters, Ah-dou is 35 and one year older than the emperor so that makes him 34. if you do the math then he was 29 when he become the emperor coz his father died 5 years ago, and he and Ah-dou would be 17 and 18 at the birth of the babies. My theory is the emperor was the one that switched the babies to keep his son safe from any assassination attempts on his life, coz his mom and his wife Ah-dou just give birth and it was hard for them to switch the babies.
Thanks to this episode we know that Jinshi is 100% royalty BUT the fact that he was swapped with the empres's son makes the family tree complicated. Based on what we know Jinshi is the current emperor's son BUT he's pretending to be his younger brother because the real brother was the baby that died and only the higher ups know the truth, if this is true then this would explain why the emperor's younger brother is in a "delicate situation" becaues the real younger brother is dead
Not even halfway through... Jinshi will have MANY facial reactions by the end and a few of them just might be smiles 😀 Keep up the great reactions, as great as this show has been so far, I think it only gets better.
Since jinshi is the only male child of the current empora that makes him crown prince by default as there are no other sons to choose from. The successor is whoever the empora chooses from amongst his sons, not necessarily the eldest son. But in this case their is only one son, so he will remain crown prince at least until another male child is born.
