This is a review and comparison of the MAONO AU-PM461TR vs the Fifine K670 USB Condenser Microphone. These are both budget USB cardioid condenser microphones under $50. Thank you for this great comparison. I think in the future it would be a very helpful to take the wind muff off from the Maono microphone (at least once) because then the comparison would be even more fair :)

Your voice sounded markedly better on the Maono 461 than on the FiFine. It gives a much more clean, clear, deep sound. Bummer the Maono doesn't have a head phone jack. I'd love to find a USB mic under $100 that sounds like the Maono 461, and also looks it (black, simple and plain, with no fancy colors and extra cosmetic features), and also has a gain knob, headphone jack and boom arm. Still looking! Thanks for the presentations, Tobias, you do a great job, and it's a huge help in searching for the right mic!

Hi Tobias! I have the Maono A04 mic and i think it gets so much background noise! May I know what software you can recommend ? 😔 im using iphone 11 :)

Hi Elaine, I think that may be due to the new chip they have been putting the the newer A04 mics. I've heard a lot of people have been saying that the sound isn't clear with the newer ones. If you are using it to record audio only, you can use the Garageband app that the iphones have. In the Garageband app there is a "noise gate" that you can add to your track under "Plug-ins & EQ". That might help you get a clearer sound.

i think the audio from fifine it's very artificial. in my opinion, i preferred maono audio, i think it's so cleaner and better for recording.

Hey, I am using fifine 670B Usb Microphone and I'm trying to fix the latency to not hear any cracks while recording vocals on Ableton Live. Could you please help me with the Input buffer size - input Latency - Output buffer size - Output latency - Overall latency - Been trying to fix this issue for quite some time. Please help

It's my pleasure! These are the raw sounds, the only thing I do is adjust the volume levels to try to make sure the audio is loud enough

The Maono produces warm sounding audio while the Fifine is bright. I guess in the end it all boils down to where you are going to use it for. For voice overs, the Maono is a great choice. For recording instruments, specifically strings, Fifine is the way to go.
