Beautiful. Stunning even. Love how sparse the towns are, but with the map of this size this is pretty much a requirement to ensure semi-smooth running at late-game. Would love to see you plat at 1/4 speed all the time, or maybe even paused. Also, please keep in mind all that you've learned in the last series about line rates and optimizations.
Thanks! I am hoping I can really bring a map of this size to life. There are only 8 cities on this map. It will hopefully help a lot with performance/balance. Also with the scale of the projects and realism I want to have on this map I’m still worried that there might be 1 or 2 too many cities on this map but I’m gonna roll with it and if it’s too much then I know for the next time. I really want to spend a lot of time in the early game to set up. I would like to play at 1/8 or even 1/16 speed but I will need to find a mod to make that happen.
I think the name of the map (as a suggestion) is... New Brookshire, a fictional region located in the US, named after the Texas city (or town since it's too small to be a city) of Brookshire
Hows about calling the map The Kingdom of Mercia Mercia (/ˈmɜːrʃiə, -ʃə, -siə/,[1][2] Old English: Miercna rīċe; Latin: Merciorum regnum) was one of the three main Anglic kingdoms founded after Sub-Roman Britain was settled by Anglo-Saxons in an era called the Heptarchy. It was centred on the River Trent and its tributaries, in a region now known as the Midlands of England Just sounded cool
any chance may have a desert map in the future? large mesas and ridges with lots of water makes for very interesting routing of vehicles. Otherwise, yeah this map you have in mind seems positive and larger scale good for content.
Personally I am not a fan of how the desert maps look in this game. Some industries and assets look very out of place. But I do think maybe a map where half or even a corner of it is desert themed could be very interesting and still provide good gameplay.
@@ultimatearchitect thanks mate, I was using Terrain Fever but the results is not as good as yours. Did you do a lot of edits ? Thanks for sharing I'll try that. BTW great job for all the vids, you're the one who gave me attention to details and lots of tips for my games ! Congrats for the excellent content ! Eager to see how you handle the new map.
Thanks for the support! I did not do too many changes. Really the only big thing was I extended a river. However, I did spend about an hour regenerating different maps over and over again. Because this is a Megalomaniac size map, I don't think the map generator was made for a map that big so I had to keep retrying until I got a map that looked good
I will usually try to go with US themed vehicles. However, I don't like not having access to everything, so there will be some European and Asian vehicles available just in case if they fit in with the theme or we want some variation.
How about giving an 'Indian' name to atleast 1 city. Here are some suggestions that are famous in india: Chennai (Port City) Kolkata (River port City aka. city of joy) Mumbai (Port City/ Commercial Hub) Shillong (Valley city) Jaipur (Desert City) Shimla (Hill station) Agra (City with 'the taj mahal')
