I just compare a Mapei primer T with planipatch when I used them for a wood subfloor. Do you have an experience like this? Just share it with me and other professionals!
So you are using planipatch with latex additive skim coat as your primer instead of primer T? Why didn’t you continue to use planipatch as your self leveller and only as primer?
Good question. That small area I did later and mixing planipatch you never know how many left over will be and need waiting for 2 hours instead of primer T. After application I can level this area with out a waiting time.
Planipatch is just that, a patch, and when mixed with latex you can emboss. I would not use it as a primer. Primer is specific and prevents the subfloor/substrate from stealing the moisture from the hydraulic cement(slu) and also gives a nice bond.
Around two years ago. It’s not a my idea. I worked for one general contractor, he was very greedy. He don’t want to spend money for primer T and always pushed traids use planipatch instead of primer. Look, he was right.
