Those trailers have a relatively watertight tub. However, they also have some spring-loaded drains that have rubber seats. So, a seam that's not completely sealed or a bit of dirt in one of those drain valves will let some water in. If you knew you were going in the water, a good smear of grease on the seams and valves would be in order.
I wonder if wheels are also steer in the water along with rudder or they can disengage. I am building a RC model of it and wondering if the rudder and wheels are two separate systems.

There really not that good for much else. But it does go well with the Jeep itself. There is no tailgate. So everything has to be picked up over the side. They're not very wide on the floor properly less than three feet. Which makes them almost impossible to load anything wide. But I know that they did in WW II and Korea. I just meant that In all honesty. For Bantam to get that contract. And Willys and Ford to build what Bantam designed doesn't seem fair somehow.
