3:24. Preach it, man. Damage charts just doesn't encapsulate enough scenarios to paint a complete picture of a character's strength in a non-optimized scenario, good on you for calling that out. If people choose their mains based on just looking at numbers on a table, chances are they could miss out on a class they truly enjoy.

Dude this quality is so good, RU-vid is severely lacking in these high quality Maple guides (not to throw shade on any other creators, but the really polished and well thought out guides are few and far between on here). You should keep doing these, I know the market is kinda niche and Maple doesn't have a huge following compared to most games, but I think having content like this will really help bring more people to the game. Please make more!

Super excited to see more uploads from this channel! I've been playing MapleStory on and off since 2007 and, even though the game has changed drastically since it's humble beginnings, I still enjoy coming back every so often and trying out more classes and new content. I'm always happy to support channels like this one, gives me more reason to feed my nostalgia.

I mained wind archer after watching a video of it killing bosses. There were so many thrifling wind fling all over while attacking, and the whole screen was all greenish and purplish, it was so beautiful. Never looked back ever since. Haha! Nice vid btw.

I chose Mercedes as my main character because I LOVE her backstory. Her special attacks are very pretty to watch and her boosts are always useful!

I cant believe theres a good video on this from 2019. Subscribing for the quality content. Keep it coming. I have mained a couple guys, started as a Dawn Warrior and then swapped to a dualblader. After getting hacked and quitting i came back this year and decided to make a corsair for a burning event that was going on just to get back in the feel for it before i chose a main. The most important thing in choosing a main is enjoying the class. It was just a random pick really that i thought id get to like level 150 and swap cause well corsairs kinda suck as a class currently tbh but I'm level 220 now and dont plan on looking back. I have so much fun with it it overshadows how not great the class is lol.

This was super helpful for somebody like me, am coming back to this game after a good decade or more. Decided to stick with cygnus knights since I never got to make one back when they were first introduced, right before I quit. Loving dawn warrior at the moment, and the class is so aesthetically pleasing too.

Tasty Maple Aran can boost attack speed and damage by command button but it will get long delay time when playing with high ping. Sad 😢

wow this is a really nice guide for beginners. i started out blaze wiz then beast tamer then kinesis as mains. since talk about world merges aug 28th, i have made many legion/link skill mules and now not sure what i want to main lol. so many awesome classes in game. think their are like 40+ diff chars. well did video and thanks!!!

This video is ACTUALLY informative and well put! It should be feature on the main site and official ms channel for new players to find. Picking a main character isn’t that hard actually. But you do have to put in some time and go decently far to see what play style to like. (Going past lv. 200.) Don’t play maple anymore because of the required time sink to reach end game content, and my lack of time didn’t help.

thanks for the great guide, i have been playing maple story on and off since the release of Orbis and then the excitement launch for Ludi release waiting with everyone else. I have been a Night Lord main on windia til my recent return to see it no longer there or my characters but, since the removal of "Avenger" i have been in a constant state of not being able to decide what to play anymore, not liking the change, of not being able to throw an amazing type of "expanding ninja star lobbing its way through a mob at phantoms for the first time excitement trying to survive." As of recent, i have played adele on the reboot server and enjoyed it.. for the most part... but, felt a steep increase of difficulty once i hit 200. not able to kill certain bosses for a potential gear upgrade. Any suggestions as to break this plato in character growth? or possibly a new type of character class to explore?

I think it's important to note link skills and that if you have absolutely no clue what to play to go through the normal Mercedes aran Evan cycle and/or make one of the newer classes since they most of the time come with a burning event an equipment event and a 90 day pet event aswell as the class itself being imbalanced since it's new.

just choose Thunder Breaker or Phantom, they're one of the best characters when it comes to versatility. Pirates in general are pretty versatile, Buccaneer is a good alternative for TB, they're equally good at bossing and have similar playstyles. Corsair is versatile and has a lot of mobility but it plays very different from its melee counterparts. A very good class regardless, just don't expect something that fits into the bruiser category. I've mained Buccaneer for years and he's one of the best classes for training, not too sluggish like ILS, not too active like characters that rely on combos (TB, Aran, Mercedes, etc). very straightforward, but with enough action to make it interesting.

I chose Hero because of the low APM required, my hands are not that dextrous so finding a good damage dealer with relatively low complex attacks made me love it.

In terms of fun my top 5 would be : 1) Wind Archer and Pathfinder 2) Aran 3) Ark 4) Thunder breaker 5) Demon Avenger [This may not apply to non-Reboot servers] I strongly suggest Arans or Demon Slayers for new players on Reboot It felt like their base damage with clean gear is far beyond most classes and they scale very well into the late game (Bossing is much harder on Demon Avenger than Aran) They're easy to level and your damage skyrockets with every new items Mercedes, Night Lord Illium and Evan while pretty cool will have much, much lower damage on a clean account since they start off weaker with an insane growth as you progress into the late game. You might want to get a few key classes to lvl 140 first for Legion and Link Skills which will give these classes the boost they need to kill efficiently in the early game. Once these classes do one shot with their spread moves, they become unstoppable murder machines.

Yes thank you for this video, I'm a returning player and I'm still struggling to choose which character to be main. Worst which I already invested quite amount in my Hero and I found out quite dislike it cause when Hero mobbing is too depends on Cry Valhalla and Burning Soul Blade. After this video I think I will reconsider and explore others class as well. Hope I can find my Right Class XD.

I stopped playing Maple around 2010. Back in my day, the only class that had full-screen clears were Bishops. Nowadays, it seems that everyone can clear their screen with any class. It also seems like everyone is able to move like assassins with their flash jump and like the gun pirate with their reverse high recoil shot. What's the point of a PvE centered game in which every class looks the same to the untrained eye?

All of the classes have different aesthetics and unique ways of accomplishing the same thing. It's way better than all the classes that would spam 1 boring skill while moving slowly until third or 4th job in old maple.

I was thinking about checking out Maplestory again, as I was one of the kids that played pre-big bang back in the day, but man I just dislike how the game just turned into filling your entire screen with numbers and just AoE the entire map. I hope they decide to do some kind of Vanilla WoW-type release because it just doesn't look like the game for me anymore.

I personally changed my settings so that damage lines are smaller and stacked since that's closer to the preBB aesthetic If the fast leveling pace of modern MMORPG doesn't turn you off, you can try Battle Mage or Night walkers since they mostly have smaller AoE

I remember pre big bang. I can't imagine playing that again now that I'm no longer a kid because I could never spend 10 hours spamming double stab or double throw or slash blast ever again. New Maple does a better job keeping you engaged because you aren't spamming one boring skill for endless hours while walking slowly.

Informative video but still don't know what to main lol. Currently playing DW but I'm getting bored of it. I've had DA and bishop as a main in the past and now looking for a new challenge. I'm Leaning towards WH, DB or waiting for Adele but there is just too many to choose from. Any advice?

i don't know if you chosed your main yet (probably, since you posted this 1 week ago) but i really recommend DB, been playing one since 2016, and it's honestly one of the best classes to start with, specially if you play on reboot, you can kill bosses without so much trouble, it's fairly easy to play, and you can do insane amounts of damage without needing an insane amount of gear, the mobbing is okay, but anyways you can always change to NL if you're gonna farm for sometime, and the NL is really amazing as mobbing, so overall i feel like DB is a really solid pick ^ biased opinion i guess since i only play DB but still join us!

I think how fund dependent a class is should be a factor, i'm considering coming back and I'd like my first character to be able to make more money than it needs for gear, then use that to fund what would be my main

I think the most balance jobs are Thunder Breaker, Demon Slayer and Luminuous. If some day nexon take off the CD to the battle mage's hyper skill like when it was new, i will choose BM as main again, BM is my favorite class but i miss that combination finish blow + sweeping staff, also i miss use all the fckng auras XD

When DB first came out in Sea, we had an event where you could skip to lv 30, my acc was bugged and I couldn't make one, I was so pissed because he looked so cool then I jumped to Gms and made one, till this day DB is my main.

Dont put much attention to tier lists, i mean, I mained mechanic for a lot of time and they arent exactly good, but i had a lot of fun, AT the moment I started and think im going to main ARK super fun class. In the end, play the class that makes you happy to play, should it be low tier or high tier, if you have fun thats all that matters

I like kinesis, but there a lo to keep ytack to him, beacuse i did not like teleport, i decide to try out blaze wizard, it has been incredible fun and easy to use, wit lh not much effects and cooldowns to keep track, so far my favorite character :)

Honestly Shade needs a buff in the early game, They mostly get carried by the 100% crit chance after attacking an enemy for long enough.

Lol. I'm old school. Go Paladin safe and secure route for ease of leveling. You ain't gonna blow up the screen but you're tanky and reliable. Use that to farm up equips and meso if you're interested in other class the game provides.

Thanks for showing a video of the best skill in the Beast Tamers kit! Aerial Relief is so over the top in its burst and I love it! Altho it should be said that Beast Tamer is a pretty crap class overall....... but who cares because its the best of every world! High mobility mobbing? Check. Tank and spank bossing? Check? (its not tanky enough for the playstyle lol) Flying around Henesys because its cool? Check! BUUUUUUUUFFFFFFFFFFSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!! CHEEEEEECKKK!!!!!!!!! xD

I would say NA Reboot, but if you’re based in southeast asia the ping will be terrible, esp since you’ll need to use a vpn
