But it feels more "stiff" if that makes sense? The Galaxy games had a very special fluidity to them, really satisfying and well put together animations
I don't see most people liking the combat or a few other aspects of this remake, but I'm almost 53 and have played Silent Hill 2 In it's many incarnations, for over 20 years, I like what I see!
I'm pretty happy with this. I agree about Angela. She looks a bit off and sounds a little too sane. In the og, she's very disturbed and childlike. The only other thing I'm worried about is the music. The creepy music that was constantly playing in the background added so much atmosphere to the og game. The music was so odd and eerie. Unlike any other game. I don't want to hear the same ol stuff from every other horror game. The unnerving ambiance made me feel nauseous at points because it was so freaking creepy. I hope they keep that feeling.
POE has lore? I've played for thousands of hours and I'm pretty sure it just has monsters and vague directions of where to go kill monsters to progress. Huh, TIL.
@@ladnil lmao I didnt pay attention on my first playthrough until I got to like chapter 5 or 6 and realized that Malakai was basically Griffith and that's when I started to care
Just keep away from the PoE lore videos on here. There is someone who posted the videos without reading comics and getting the full backstory about certain characters. Shame that GGG still plug them.
@xSoulShinigamix What? They are published by GGG lol. So if you like the lore. The story of the Poet and how Act 1 to 3 happened is in the books. So you do you?
I'd love to see your reaction watching the Silent Hill movie! It's one of my favourite movies of all time! Loved your reaction to the transmission by the way!
People are addicted to being depressed and cynical lol. Nothing is ever good enough, and if it is, we immediately shove it down the memory hole seconds after seeing it.
From what little we've heard the new voice acting in Silent Hill 2 still sounds off (in a good way). As you've said, I can never erase two decades of hearing the original VA, but I think they can pull off a solid remake. It all hinges on the atmosphere they can create. As far as gameplay goes... I just hope there's not too big of a combat focus and they didn't quicken the pacing too much. Everything else like controls, camera and puzzles are fair game. xD Edit: Man, it feels kinda sad how much they focus on "recapturing the original". They clearly heard the critics. :/
Feels like this gen, across all platforms, has been compromised quite a bit by both covid directly impacting development and decisions that were made late last gen and in the beginnings of this one and we're now paying the price a bit. Lots of games that feel that they were commissioned in a different industry almost from the realities today. It is just a feeling of course cause I haven't played any of the games in this thing, I'm speaking more generally about what the upcoming release schedule for the next few years feels like as well, not just stuff revealed here either. Edit: Astrobot looks fucking sick though, so hey, take the good and the bad.
@@MapocolopsCan't really blame the lack of originality when FromSoftware has basically made the same game for the last however many years. I blame recency bias more than anything else because every kind of game has been done already decades ago. It just comes down to how a Marvel Rivals or Concord, for example, differs from Overwatch. One of my favorite quotes on this topic: "Nothing is original. Steal from anywhere that resonates with inspiration or fuels your imagination. Devour old films, new films, music, books, paintings, photographs, poems, dreams, random conversations, architecture, bridges, street signs, trees, clouds, bodies of water, light and shadows." - Jim Jarmusch
Calling Where winds meet a Sekiro clone is disingenuous. Just like Sekiro it takes heavily from local myths and traditions, but for Where winds meet it's obvious they're going with wuxia route. A Chinese studio doing a chinese myths and stories inspired game. We haven't had a good wuxia game yet, let's hope Where winds meet is it.
Concord looks pretty but has "can I copy your homework?" vibes. There are just too many hero shooters saturating the market. Marvel Rivals has an edge over this just by being licensed but I foresee so many hero shooter servers being turned off in the next 2-5 years.
Here's the thing... All Blooper games *LOOK* great. That's the *only* thing they do well. It's extremely easy to make a game seem impressive in a trailer even including gameplay because you're still only getting a static, highly controlled, visual presentation. (Although I think the new Lying Figure looked like ass) Blooper team track record & Konami track record speak for themselves though. Cautious optimism feels too optimistic for that pairing 😂 Btw the movies also LOOK good. But uh well... They sure do reference things you remember! First one is okay. Second is a garbage fire.
All the good games are getting ported to PC, nobody cares about marvel, weeb fantasy or bloodborne at 30FPS. Once there is a proper 60FPS PC port then I'll play it.
Not sure how I feel about Jame's voice... it's not that it's bad, I'm just not sure if it fits James. It sounds a bit too "gruff", like he's doing a Troy Baker impression. It also sounds like it's a non-American actor doing an American accent. Edit: Apparently I'm right, James is being played by English actor Luke Roberts.
The environments look great but characters really seems to be bloopers weak point. No idea why this is the category, they want to inject some artistic freedom. It's a real testament to team silent's skills if the cutscene character models of the 20y old original look better than this. Given they need to carry the story, this makes me very nervous.
Their weak point is character development and writing. And visual storytelling. And pacing. And ham fisted mistreatment of sensitive subject matter. A Short Message felt 100% like a Blooper made game I was shocked it wasn't.
Oh my God, shut up this infinity fucking Nikki Game-is this game based off of that goddamn mobile dress up doll game, no fucking way😳 I am actually surprised speechless fucking mind blown, never would have ever thought💔 Jesus Christ, that was so jarring 😂
Hating the SH2 demake. Did so from the beginning. N9 SH fan asked for this doodoo. Being a yet another generic OTS action game is bad enough (everyone hated HC and DP already 15 years ago), but the surfaced DEI agendas and purely missing the point of the characters with the redesigns are just final nails on thd coffin. I always recommend playing the original gameS instead of these modern "Netflix adaptation" re-takes. Preferably starting with the SH1, which way too many people skip for some reason.
