The answer to this is simple… USSS didn’t WANT to see him on the roof. They had to react though when the guy made his presence known to the public. Btw - in America- we still run from bullets flying typically.. typically it’s every person for themselves.. but what you saw here was a crowd more worried about the president than themselves and by not all running at once, many many people were saved.

Subscriber from Texas here. Apparently from numerous sources the sniper that took out Crooks has been fired for taking the shot. Which he did confirm that he had the shooter in his sights for 3 minutes. The Secret Service director told him to not fire.. Just a bit of info for y’all. Kudos to y’all for watching this!!! The SS well known for their very strict security measures somehow 'didnt know'(or most likely didnt care) about the shooter on the roof. I pretty sure they purposely let it happen on the direction of someone higher up.

They actually interviewed an old lady from the front row and asked her why they didn’t duck and her response was because they’re were willing to shield him

Ok, with the Secret Service they have LAYERED defenses, the first and closest layer is the 6 agents that surround him on the stage, these are the ones who will shield their protectorate with their own bodies, it is a crappy job, but that is the job that they signed up to do, they KNOW, that they might have to give up their life to protect their ward, the second is the counter Snipers, 2 of the teams were seen in this video, and are usually responsible for searching for threats from 750 to 1,200 yards away from the President, the third is usually a closer shorter range counter sniper team, which will typically be searching for threats from 100 to 750 yards away, then you have the entry personnel, they search EVERYONE who enters into the venue, now I am sure there are much more than just that, but SOMEHOW, and we do not yet know why, or how this idiot DURING the speech, was able to wander over to the building and climb on top, now since that building was so close, it SHOULD have had a couple of Secret Service agents on top of it, and every other building in the area should have had as well, ANYTHING elevated within 1,500 yards should have been secured, and access restricted. people are complaining that the counter sniper took a long time to put a bullet into the shooter, but keep in mind, he was looking for threats much farther away, it took him a few seconds to disengage from what he was doing, get a visual on where the shooter was at, readjust his rifle, and tripod, and get the shooter in his scope before he could squeeze off the bullet that ended the threat. and I think he did a great job, I KNOW how hard it is to look through a scope set up for a long range shot and on the fly have to adjust to a much closer shot without being able to focus the scope on the much closer target, I think he did a very good job, and the reason I know he was looking for long range threats, is the news already told us that the shooter was shot with a .300 Winchester Magnum, that is a round that is purposefully made for longer distance precision shooting, the shorter range counter snipers would likely be using something like a .308 or a 30-06 or similar.

Secret Service might have had eyes on him, but they can’t shoot until he does first, a lot of government agencies, especially here in the US share a strict ROE where unless they are being shot at they cannot return fire.

Apparently they were actually aware something was going on because people had seen him up there. The cops went up the ladder to get him and then had to duck back down because he pointed the gun at him. Then he immediately turned and fired at Trump.

the failures were many, so many that the fault rests with the leadership, from the command of the event, all the way up to the WH itself. How so many major failures could exist in the situation being that it was, is criminal, is either criminal negligence or criminal malice. We all wait to learn more, to get more clarity, but we also grow wary of the fact that the same command that enabled such failure in the first place, is in charge of investigating what happened and as such, isn't very high on the dependable and trustworthy level for giving us anything other than spin and protection of the people in charge and the power they work for. People don't want to hear their beliefs are falsely placed, that their ideals are leveraged by bad people, and their malign ignorance is enabling those bad people to do bad things that at the minimum, enable failures this large, and very possible that the intent of the leaders was even worse. I fear that because of the ineptitude and corruption in the current establishment State and Administration, we will never learn of the real story of this event, much like we never learned of the real detailed story of JFK's assassination. It will just linger on for decades with the needed evidence and their evidence trials, going cold and unobtainable in time. This is just my opinion, and it is naturally subject to change over time, but it is the one I hold at this moment.

There are a lot of factors that go into operational planning for a protection detail. Sniper or counter sniper positions are limited to what’s available for outdoor events. They would not have been positioned on the suspects roof top, at that is facing the wrong direction and outside the primary security perimeter. Ex-secret service agents are getting leaked intel from within the agency that the roof the assassin was on was supposed to have local police snipers stationed there working hand to hand with secret service. The police snipers never arrived to this post on the roof. But it is thought that the no show of police snipers on the roof wasn’t relayed back to the secret service snipers and it is rumored that they believed the gunman was one of the police snipers which is why they didn’t eliminate him before the gunman opened fire. It also has been reported that the FBI is unable to find anything about him on his computer, social media or phone. As if his identity has been digitally scrubbed. So the question is, how could a 20 year not have a digital footprint and also in broad daylight breach multiple layers of security of one of the most protected individuals in the world. Conspiracy theorists would suggest the gunman had help from the deep state.
