Jeeze I felt bad I been watching for ages then you stated you don't have a ton of subscribers. I wiped my tears & added myself. You do good stuff & it's always worth dropping in although I expect a cup of tea next time. I love my marantz but decided to rid of all my surround stuff and yamaha amp it was taking over the room. Just me the wife & marantz cd6007 & pm6007 with rega planar 3 & b& w 607 s2 anniversary that are tucked away neatly. I always give away old stuff to family it's surprising how they gradually build up once hooked. Even had a family member that said at a barbeque can I go inside & listen your hifi, I had to check he was OK an hour later. That's why I like giving stuff away. The latest recipient was my 16 year old grand daughter got free q acoustics speakers, rotel amp & sony turntable. I feel like the santa of hifi. Anyhow about you, I like your down to earth simple explanations with accessible equipment & reasonably priced items in plain English.
Awesome stuff! 2 questions: 1.When you bi-amp your speakers with this receiver, does it allow you to assign that signal through its software? 2. Being a 50W/channel receiver, do you feel it's enough to drive big floor standing speakers in a fairly large living room?
Bi-Amp is interesting with these A/V Receivers - it's essentially the surround circuit driving the HF (don't need 50w for those) and fronts being the LF. It CAN drive floor standing (my 6ohm 85ish db Energy's) but if you want ear-bleed loud in a big room these won't do it. Loud enough to be entertaining while not quite at max? = yes
Have you tried certified HDMI 2.1 ?HDCP 2.3? Cables to help solve your audio and video issues with the apple tv? Sounds like you may have a cable issue if your devices are all up to date with correct firmware. Also if you are using arc or earc through the tv to reciever try passing the signal directly through the AVR. I could be way off but cables are important in the chain for AV format continuity. Thanks for posting the review! Keep it up.
BluOS streams Amazon Music natively. I prefer to use a separate streaming platform for music. I wish AV receivers would stick to video, I can do my own streaming and wifi connectivity without the receiver. Just give me pre-outs and Atmos with 4K/120hz hdmi and we are good.
I have this marantz and I completely agree that the HEOS app is horrible and hasn’t changed since you’ve made this video. Since I use a IPhone with Apple Music subscription, I’m contemplating getting a Apple TV dongle to stream higher rez audio. That said I’m running a vintage MK1 Hitachi HMA 7500 power amp off the 1711’s preouts with Fyne Audio F301’s and a 10” sub, I find CD audio quality off Tidal fairly adequate for sound quality. I also found skipping Audessy and setting it up manually instead produced a way better sound.
I bought this one after watching this exhilarating review and it works pretty well with music as well as an avr. Oddly, when I tried to play a particular dvd through this amp it tells me that the region is not supported. Is this the amp that's the problem as it played perfectly alright through previous amps? My dvd player is universal, so plays anything, thus puzzling. Any suggestions?
thanks for the video and review. so you say this receiver can do the same job as PM6006 probably? Did you compare it to any popular integrated amps in the market?
Hi Peeps, I have an NR1200 and need to add an EQ for all sources (including the built in WIFi HEOS streaming). Would you recommend using the NR1200 as a preamp/DAC and place the EQ in-line with a larger Marantz 7025 power amp? Thoughts? Suggestions?
Hi,I have also bought this recent Marantz AVR in Hermann to replace my Yamaha RX 681 in favour of HDMI 2.1,the form form factor and streamer options. But the UI is awful. The Yamaha UI was already very oldschool but this one is terribly Show and reaction time very bad, isn't it?Moreover I have a Teufel 7.1 Ultima speaker set Connecticut to it incl. 2 reflective Atmosphäre speakers. The rears are connected wireless and with a good output level. My bing Teufel sub is connected via suitable Sub transmitter to the Sr1711 but the volume level remains quote low even when adjusting the level on the Sub itself or on the back of Sub wireless transmitter.Any idea?
Without knowing more I couldn’t tell you unless I saw the system. Go into the speaker mode and adjust the sub level on the marantz. You can also do this in the quick set up mode by adjusting the channel levels. Wireless can be difficult to trouble shoot because there is another variables To consider. And yes, the UI isn’t very good. I totally agree with you
@@cheapaudioman well I have a signal on the Sub which I can place as front or downfire.I have the Ultima 40 Surround Wireless "5.1-Set incl. and this Teufel Transmitter teufel.de/subwoofer-wireless-transmitter-105048000
I’m not up to speed on wireless speakers at all and I’m not quite sure what technology is out there. I know I did some wireless surrounds with a transmitter and receiver once but there was a little amp on the receiver side. For non powered or passive speakers it depends on a few things. You can email me at cheapaudioman@gmail.com and I’d be happy to give you some recommendations.
im currently looking for a slim receiver , I’m running a 5.1 setup with Klipsch Rp280fs , Rp160m,rp440c and a 12 inch sub . Does this receiver have enough power to run this type of system ?
Can you do a review where you plug this in and use it? it would be a unique review, as no one has any videos up that actually shows this receiver in use.
@@cheapaudioman after watching your videos for a week today I finally pulled the trigger on my 2.1.2 set up for my lil man cave. I bought this receiver the OG klipsch rp600 speakers and some matching Dolby atmos upfiring speakers. I got all of this for $1100! I’m upgrading from klipsch the fives (which you should review) and can’t wait for my new set up
Please don't take this the wrong way but, can you please move your microphone away from your throat? I know it's part of your "Shtick" to drink coffee and emphasize the sound of the coffee going down your throat. It's really annoying to hear. It's like finger nails across a blackboard. Thank you so kindly. 🙂
After watching a few of your more recent videos it seems you have rectified the situation. Either someone else has brought this issue to your attention or you've done it on your own naturally thinking of your viewers feelings on the matter. Either way ,thank you so much.
@@number1pappy these were some of my first videos I ever shot. I knew nothing about editing or production. After a few hundred videos I started to get better. Appreciate your feedback and you watching.
Some advise, don't have junk in the back. Better lighting could help, keep it short. Don't drink or move the mic.. swallowing your coffee sounds a bit grose
