Man I sure do love your videos. My late wife and I spent 3 winters down in that territory, we parked our 35 foot class A at Golden Shores Route 66 RV Park in Topock AZ and drove our towed all over the area. Your videos bring that all back. I lost the love of my life to cancer a year ago and the pain is still so very real, our RV sits in the back yard, the wheels sinking into my yard where there was once a garden, and I have been sitting in my Recliner day and night since our 51st wedding anniversary just 4 days before cancer took her from me. Thanks for taking me back to the most wonderful time of our lives.

You missed the best part. Lees Ferry with the original pioneer orchards, cabins, and cemetery. You can pick fruit from the trees. The launch location for all raft trips through the Grand Canyon is there. A great winter campground run by the Department of the Interior, and several sand beaches for kids and sandcastles. The Vermillion Cliffs were left and you should have turned right. Go back and see.

I've travelled this route many times. When you drop off that escarpment, which gives amazing views, down to Bitter Springs, onto 89A. Travelling North towards the Navajo Bridge, the Echo cliffs are on your right. Over the Bridge, if you take a right, you go down to Lee's Ferry. There are amazing, huge hoodoos on this road. This is the place where river runners put in to travel down the river. On a rise overlooking the river is a campsite I have stayed at 4 times since 1992. Travelling back to 89A taking a right takes you alongside the Vermillian Cliffs. This road climbs to Jacob Lake where you can get refreshments before travelling 50 miles South, down to the North Rim of Grand Canyon. Such a magical area. Oldtimer Englishman from Shropshire who last travelled this route in 2012, sadly that will be my last time.

like yourself my wife and I have travelled that route a few times (last in 2008) and never tire from the views. We usually stop at Lee's ferry to have a picnic and watch the rafters. Over the years we must have spent a couple of months exploring the area and now we are retired when and if covid allows we will go back and spend even longer exploring some more. An oldtimer Englishman from Staffordshire.

We are hoping to be in this area in late May 2022, any idea what the weather will be like? We’re going either way, just wondering if you have any advice. Thanks again. 🇺🇸🌵🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

@@steviejd5803 Hi We've never been as late as May/June usually March/April as it can get quite hot by then, Its hot enough for us earlier and i have a vague memory that you get thunderstorms that can cause flash floods around the canyons. Have been as late as thanksgiving (November) still warm enough for exploring during the day but can get very cold at night. Snow on the red rocks makes it magical. Make sure to visit as many national parks as you can and look to buy an annual pass in the first one as it usually works out cheaper in the long run but you probably know that. Have a great trip, not envious at all, our next trip is on hold due to health issues.

I was wondering if you'd get around to visiting Marble Canyon on this trip...and what do you know, yay, you made it! I'm surprised that you didn't see any Condors while you were there. They were flying over the bridge only a few feet over people's heads when I was there in May. Next time you're in the area take the short drive out to Lees Ferry--it's one of my favorite spots in the southwest. I love being able to stick my feet in the river at the beach there and just stare up at the red rock canyon wall with Colorado River rolling past. .

Definitely stop at Lees Ferry, gorgeous view of the Colorado river at ground level. This is where they meet to raft down to the Grand Canyon and also where the float trip out of page ends and the bus is waiting for you on your return trip back to Page. Awesome photos we captured of the people getting into their rafts for the wild ride down to the Grand Canyon..Gorgeous scenery here. Your video is AWESOME and love the way you take your time on this wonderful leg of your trip.

I took this drive in October of 2017. AWSOME !!! As you keep driving on toward Kanab there are about 3 massive Boulders scattered along the way on the right side of the road. ABSOLUTELY UN-REAL !!! I am sure that these are some of the same boulders that the "Coyote " used to try to kill the "Roadrunner " in the cartoons. Make sure you make it up to Bryce Canyon. Enjoy the ride !

Nice to see you made it to Navajo Bridge and Marble Canyon. Next year, if you do make it back to the area, be sure to include Lee's Ferry in your itinerary. You wondered where people used to cross the river before the bridge. Well, it was at Lee's Ferry, just a few miles upstream from where the bridge is today. It's worth the trip to check it out. I was hoping you were going to stop by on this episode. Today Lee's Ferry is where Grand Canyon river rafters put in. You can get right up to the river's edge. It's mind boggling when you're standing on the bridge with the sheer canyon walls and the river far below to realize that just a couple miles upstream you can actually walk with ease right to the river's edge.

Heck, Russ, if you wanted to see fall colors, you should have kept going up 89-A to Jacob Lake, the turn off to the North Rim. That's only 40 miles or so from the Marble Canyon Inn, and then you're only another 44 miles down to the North Rim itself. Plus, that drive along the foot of the cliffs is pretty spectacular. And, you were pondering how they crossed the river before the bridge was built. The answer is Lee's Ferry. It's a shame you didn't make the short 5-mile drive down to the river to see the view from the river's edge there.
