Nah fr that poor brunette with the hunchback sweater, the black girl walking mad slow witt her arms pressed down over the back of her pastel blue dress just to keep her buttcheeks covered and the Asian chick who almost tripped in those ridiculous shoes...none of these models looked joyful tbh what even was this collection?😂
I mean having a poker face or a resting face is pretty much how it is done almost all of the time so it’s not like is very surprising. They’re modeling the clothes not themselves. The clothes are the focus.
Yeah, too many people who are into fashion want to rationalize everything as artistic or unusual when in reality, it’s just dumb crap No woman in real life would wear.
@@latsnojokelee6434these shows arent neccisarily for people to wear off the runway. Sometimes it all is, but often stuff is altered or custom tailored and changed to who's wearing it
Thank you.....THIS ISN'T FASHION.....IT'S ......NONSENSE. and the ones promoting this are laughing their heads off about it, trying to make us feel like FOOLS. This should be ignored.
It imitates dressing a doll because the pieces play with proportion…one of the joys of childhood and imaginative play. The designer was just healing their inner child. U need to relax bro
Cartoon characters are drawn with art direction and style in mind, and have fun proportions to fit the fun clothes As an amateur character designer I’m offended lmao. If he wanted to do something like this, then he should’ve got diverse body types for it too. Smh
Why do they all look so sloppy and uncomfortable? I enjoy the artistry and imagination behind the pieces, but collections like these always make me wonder. "Who buys these?"
We should be happy that designers aren't just making things channel-style, H&M clothes that offer nothing new but a higher price tag. People don't have to buy these, but we can still enjoy the artistry.
@@RebeccaHunt-wv8bc by H&M i mean basic clothing. There's nothing wrong with H&M clothes (except for them being mass produced), but they don't count as fashion.
no one does. these arent the type of fashion show that have the pieces designed to be worn out in the world. theyre basically wearable sculptures designed just for this runway. at most there will be actual cute wearable pieces 'inspired' by these pieces in shape, color, etc
It's not about being uptight. This collection may be art, but the pieces are NOT wearable, they're impractical and ridiculous. The looks are goofy and terribly unflattering, you go ahead and wear them though, if they bring you joy, that's all that matters. We all have an opinion, and are entitled to them... Doesn't make one uptight to consider most of these oversized pieces unattractive 🤷🏽♀️@@oldfashionedstitches2378
None of these models look like they're walking effectively in these clothes which tells me its a choice. The normal person clothing version of this is absolutely my style but i hate almost every single thing here
Some of these would be so much better if they didn’t hang so clumsily off of the models. The first one would be my favorite if it didn’t look so sloppy
@@ellaj.659 right, i agree I just think it could look a little more balanced and intentional. I love the bikinis and some of the jackets towards the end. I think they could have played off of the angle of the dresses to get the paper doll effect but still have it fitted instead of making it so oversized
I agree! I’m happy to hear differing opinions. I do find it interesting to look at. But I also lack the technical knowledge that Luke may have- and having that knowledge may give one a greater appreciation for what’s being done here! Sometimes I see a collection (looking at you, Chanel) and think “meh” then I see a behind the scenes of the hundreds of hours of meticulous work that a design house has done to create the garments and then I see them through new eyes.
Yes partly. This is art, not H&M. Do you expect painters to paint something that all people could understand and relate to? No. So why would you expect a designer to "not design" and just copy the usual silhouette and style of H&M?
@@rom1783-c1ythe most famous paintings are usually highly evocative even in abstract art; the fact that most people have an emotional connection is why they are masterpieces 😂 furthermore they still serve the function of art as they can be used to decorate a building. These pieces however do not serve the functional requirements of clothing and few can relate to them. Your comparison here merely makes you look ignorant and foolish.
@@rom1783-c1yI don’t wear H&M 🤣🤣 thanks for jumping to conclusions. also I was genuinely asking what the point of the shows were, no need to get all pressed. I wasn’t trying to insult. you’re just overreacting now. calm down.
Or one could be sarcastic and say the point of these kinds of clothes is because you’ve run out of original ideas and you don’t really value women so you make ridiculous nonsense that nobody wants to wear and then you call it art to justify the waste of time and effort. But that would be just being sarcastic. .
they reminded me of dolls right away. i like the collection as a work of art. could also see myself actually wearing the crystal jacket if i had fuck you money. 😂
No. sometimes some stuff is for regular retail (Louis Vuitton has that a lot). I wouldn't be shocked if the elf shoes were in store to buy. But generally these are one of a kind and people will order them and typically get it tailored and changed.
I think these are meant to be for red carpets and similar events, not ready to wear. Think of them like paintings. A very large painting may not be something that fits in the average home, but it is suitable for a museum or may be purchased by very wealthy individuals. These clothes are not designed to be worn by us, they are meant to express certain motifs and be worn by the rich for various events.
Do the people not realize this is Haute Couture show? Like most of these looks are not going to be wearable. It's more to show the art rather than the wearability. This isn't a ready to wear show.
Most people still see clothes as functional, whether they’re also aesthetic or not, and most won’t see this particular collection as high art because of its visual childishness. Anything that outlandishly impractical presented as a garment will always make the public raise their eyebrows, and that’s perfectly understandable.
It's not supposed to be wearable. It's art. It's not a ready to wear runway. These will usually be simplified into wearable clothing, but for the runway It's supposed to be exaggerated and artsy
Love all the outfits except the one that expose the bum. That is a dream come true for those people with the upskirt fetish. We need to protect women from those abusers. Otherwise the collection is fresh😊!
That's the Only dress I found interesting/Flirty/Joyous✨ Otherwise the collection as a whole was like someone just took a children's book & lifted the ideas right off the page. I get what he was going for but it missed the Marc on this One
@@clairea7647 Correct! When it goes to RTW adjustments will be made for real life. I hope people will admire the ideas, silhouette, the colors. Yes, it look like paper dolls. I love the genius.
The comment section lacks whimsy and fun. You forget that fashion is art, not just wearable clothing. To emulate and take after cartoons and dolls takes even more work than just dressing the human body as it is.
Exactly, this is not H&M. If you want wearable practical clothes, go to the mall and buy the same piece that every other person buys. This is art, and it does not owe you normality or practicality.
I like the connection of the paper dolls reference. I didn’t know how to feel about the looks, but once u mentioned that I appreciated it more, and it’s a lot more cooler to me.
All the dresses look beautiful on you already. I can’t imagine how much a tailor can do! I’d keep dress 2 and 3 to be modified as short dresses. The simpler 5th dress can definitely even work as a fancy evening dress.
It's a great costume collection. These clothes look like doll clothes and works of art. The styles remind me of the 1950s silhouettes. Not exactly everyday wearable.
This collection screams "WE DON'T HAVE TO STICK TO NORMAL SILHOUETTES AND SHAPES". It frees us from the societal norms of H&M-style clothes that are copies of the same unoriginal pieces.
@@MoreMoreMoreMia I didn't say that, don't take things literally. I said that a collection can do this, but it can do something else, not having typical silhouettes isn't the only way to be creative. And I didn't actually mean H&M, what I meant is typical and generic clothes. Anyway, my point is, society expects normal silhouettes that fit one's body, and the collection didn't provide that, it's not that hard to understand.
No, sorry. Even the most creative and challenging ideas should have an element of making the wearer feel attractive, vibrant, unique and that heads will turn when the clothes are worn. But these creations would have heads turning for the wrong reason in mockery and confusion.
15 secs in...🤣 Bahahaha!! That is THE funniest shit I've seen in a long time! Thankyou Mr Jacobs...👏🏼 Picasso-esqe bulky abstract forms, not exactly dancing and frolicking along the beach...but I love it! 😂 Bravo Sir and thankyou for the laffs! ♥️🫡
