This video is about my REVIEW ON THE MARC JACOBS LEATHER TOTE BAG IN SIZE SMALL. I recently did a video about my contemporary bag haul and the Marc Jacobs Leather tote was one of the bags featured. In that same video I told you all that I was going to do a full video about my feelings about the bag. In today’s video I talk about why this bag is so fantastic, the material that it’s made of, why you need it, and why I’m sending it back. I give a quick comparison between this bag and some luxury tote bags that are in the same category and explain that the full grain leather on this bag is top notch.In this video I show you what fits inside the Marc Jacob leather tote bag in size small, by simulating what I would bring with me on a domestic are international flight. I also give alternatives to this leather tote bag if you’re looking for the function of the bag but not the price.I talk about the weight of the bag and how it will affect my need for the bag. I also explain that the weight of the bag not only varies with what’s inside, but also by what the person uses the bags for. I show mod shots just to illustrate size comparisons of the other Marc Jacobs totes and end the video with my final thoughts about the bag.

I just purchased this bag in the black leather and it is one of my favorite bags. As you stated the bag is very well made and the leather is exceptional. I don’t use the crossbody straps and I don’t do a lot of traveling but I carry my iPad or my MacBook and it can get a little heavy. Thanks for the video.

Thank you for your honest review. I have debated between the leather and canvas and while I’m still worried about the light colored canvas, I did end up purchasing that one after seeing how the leather was just too heavy for you. It’s such a beautiful bag so I really appreciate the feedback on what you liked and why you ended up making a different decision.

thanks for sharing your thoughtful review! I think for travel, you should check out the large longchamp le pliage - it's light weight (literally weighs nothing) and it's durable, water resistant and comes in multiple colors! Also you might like the TUMI just in case tote as well. It's similarly very light, holds a ton and is also very durable :) I have both and love them! I've personally traveled with the same longchamp tote for years - it's amazing lol

They make the larger one in leather. Currently they have black and brown leather. They’re gorgeous. I have the small one in the sand/jacquard with black trim and I love it. I also have the red mini leather tote and I really love that one! Good luck in your search for the perfect travel tote!

Since you're planning to travel with this tote, I would recommend getting the wide strap add on for a more durable crossbody strap.

Hey girl! Ive been wondering about this bag. I do like the appearance. But for travel inswear by my Longchamp bags. I have the carry on and the large and the small ones. They work well on the plane and are wiped clean! I pack my luxury bags in the carryon. Love my set. This though might be goos for work for me. Let us know how you like the canvas!

You can get the wide strap the one they use for snapshot camera bag, they sell it separately though. And they have sooo many colors and patterns to choose from :) that way you can wear it more comfortable on your shoulder :)

The larger size canvas tote is better and I suggest the black. I have the canvas unboxing on my page. I travel with my beige one all the time and it has gotten dirty but I don’t mind. I got the bag to use it. I will be getting the black one. I want the leather in the smaller size and in black. This video was very helpful when it comes to the leather purchase.

I just ordered the Small one yesterday for travel so I don’t have to bring my LV. It should work for me since I don’t travel with my laptop or tablet. I’m on vacation those items can stay home. Maybe you should look into the large one, but canvas.

@@simplykura it does collect a lot of lint but it’s big enough to keep a lint roller or a roll of tape in it lol. The plus side is it’s about half the cost and very light!

I have that bag in the canvas version. I definitely couldn't travel with it. It's enough for my daily use as a mommy to a one-year-old but even that is a stretch. My medium Telfar bag is bigger than that bag. It's slightly bigger than my LV neverfull pm. I love traveling with the LV Mountsourri GM backpack. ALso, you can take your water bottle. It just has to be empty going through TSA. There are bottle refilling stations in most airports.

Hey Hey! I actually sold the rouge because I wasn't reaching for it. I will say though that the rouge is smaller and not as easy to use as this purse. The rouge was beautiful it just got a little heavy for me after a while. Im sorry I can't help more. However I hope that helps.

For travel I love the brand Baggallini, the bags are very lightweight and sturdy. The brand was created by airline employees. I’ve heard the Marc Jacobs black canvas constantly attracts lint so you’ll need a travel size lint brush.

I have your exact same problem! I bought this bag to carry my laptop in and with just my light 13" dell XPS and I already felt like the bottom was kind of stretching or "bulging" out when wearing it cross body. I feel like the leather is going to stretch, I could see it kind of stretching when wearing it. I am not sure if I got a bad one but the bottom feels very soft and not structured. I also bought the tan jacquard tote with letters on the two sides and that one is more structured with a harder bottom and better for carrying a laptop so I am returning the leather one. The jacquard one is also much lighter and convenient with the wider strap.

I would go for the bigger size for text books. This will get too heavy. The bigger size you can throw on your shoulder.
