I would give him a one race suspension or at least make him start next race from the back of the grid. MM93 shows a pattern of irresponsible riding which results in a lot of collateral damage to other riders. MM93 has won MotoGP championship I think 6 times. The riders that he's taking out have never won it. IMO it shows a degree of selfishness and entitlement on his part.

Has the Honda only a chassis issue? I think not, I think that the Bike has a few problems. 1. Grip problems in the rear, 2. Brake and Grip problems from higher speeds in the front of the Bike, 3. the engine needs more power, because you can clearly see that a Ducati, Aprillia and the KTM can overtake the Honda on the long straight very easy and the Honda has problems to follow this Bike´s in the sleepstream.

honda is turning down the power in an attempt to get some? any? direction in handling . Actually smart thing to do. You are correct the hoda has problems in all areas in handling ./grip ect . Alan the honda had ... head shake !! unheard of in motogp/500cc since the 1970s .

@@jake88ci it´s very sad to see that they work a long time, very hard for this Bike and thats the result at the end? but on the other hand, Yamaha has also huge problems. The Japanese brands needs a lot of help from Europe, otherwise they can forget next year also.

Pit lane start. MM93 has a 'red mist' problem and he is on a crap handling bike which he needs to ride way over the limit to get any kind of result, so Honda do not have another humiliating season. The wrong tyre choice of the hard and the lock up all add up to a rider having to push it to the limit at an unacceptable level because the bike is so poor.

The bottom line is that Marquez only has a few years left, at best. It’s short-sighted to continue to act as though the series revolves around him. The same goes for Honda. There have to be some forward-thinking people over there that believe the sooner HRC parts with Puig and Marquez, the better off they will be.

Penalty for anyone making such a stupid and dangerous mistake should be harsh. And I dont disagree with Aleix or Jorge. One race ban. For a top contender that is a potential 25 points they will lose if Im not mistaken. And because its Marc, and because he has made a career out of this foolishness and been put on probation before because of it I dont think that penalty is unfair at all. In fact he should again be on probation.

For sure, Marc's Banzai riding style is exciting. Won him a few championship's hasn't it. Is he the last bastion of the old school rivalry/take no prisoners rider? The rest of the grid come across a bit pally-pally (apart from the Peco/Enea relationship maybe). Speculate then that he's not entirely bothered who gets in his way. He's still gonna go for it. Still got something to prove. Still got the drive and ambition that doesn't outweigh his talent (famous quote). Grid will be dull without him. Not a fan by the way.

A Race ban is the safest option for Marquez imo and he shouldn’t be allowed take part at COTA, I don’t think two long laps at COTA is a good idea and he’s not going to change his ways unless they put the foot down hard and guaranteed he’s thinking he could do two long laps and still have a good result. I’m very much looking forward to it all playing out though
@Motod94
@Motod94 Год назад
I dont think this incident was one of hes crazy moves he just made a mistake like Fabio did in Australia but the difference was that Fabio managed to avoid others and Marc didnt, and for changing his aggresive riding style i dont think he will ever change it and i dont think he should change it becouse that rideing style got him were he is, and when i say aggresive i dont mean hitting other riders if you look at hes races in with Dovi or races from 2013 to 2016 there were usualy clean but aggresive. i personally think that he deserves a pit lane start penalty, race ban in my opinion would be for taking out other riders on perpuse.
@sleepwalker8600
@sleepwalker8600 Год назад
@@Motod94 Agressive riding is fine but there has to a basic level of respect for the other riders and I don’t believe Marc has it. As soon as Martin passed Marquez I knew there was a big chance that Marquez was going to do something dodgy to try and get him back like he did in Silverstone and that’s the problem, he has serious form for this so regardless of whether he locked the front and made a mistake he was pushing too hard to hit his braking marker,he’s around a long time and he wasn’t the only one with tyres not fully up to temp but yet it’s him who wrecked two other riders races and injured them so letting Marc race at Cota with long laps isn’t enough imo maybe it is a bit harsh but between the getting pole with a tow and then going out and making a fuck up like that in the race it’s just too much. There’s a fine line though to be fair and I do get your point, he’s aggressive riding style and race craft served him well in the sprint race and got him a podium. Maybe the two long laps at Cota will do the trick and he’ll wise up a little bit are maybe he’ll do them one after the other straight away and make a big charge from the back and push everyone out of his way exactly like he has done before at Cota, I can’t wait to find out lol
@Motod94
@Motod94 Год назад
@@sleepwalker8600 There is zero problem with him getting a tow in qualifying, there is no rule for that. And yes its bad that he took out 2 riders with a bad mistake, but Lorenzo took out 3 riders in Barcelona 2019 and he didnt get a penalty. And if you rewatch the races at Cota you will see that he didnt push out anyone, yes he was aggresive but without contact.
@sleepwalker8600
@sleepwalker8600 Год назад
@@Motod94 There’s no rule for towing but there’s definitely a problem with it, what is the point of qualifying if you have Marc on a bad Honda getting sucked around the track and gaining half a second? It completely defeats the purpose of qualifying and means that you have slower riders too far up the grid where they shouldn’t be. It’s much safer imo to have Marquez start in tenth and push forward rather start on pole and fall back to p10. Maybe he didn’t make contact at Cota but how many times have we seen Marc have to go to another teams box to try and apologise for something, it’s definitely more times than anyone else on the grid. With the bike he has now I’d bet money there’s more of this to come from Marquez but maybe I’m wrong and honestly I hope I am because his determination to come back from injury was truly impressive and he’s probably the most talented rider ever to race GP and I don’t want him to see him over rider a bad bike and cause problems for other riders and himself so hopefully he is a little bit more reserved and he keeps himself out of trouble because really and truly regardless of what penalty he gets that’s all anyone wants

@@sleepwalker8600 I disagree with you but there is no point to continue this conversation we wont change anythig its not in our hands, we can just hope that there will be no more stupid incidents like this from any rider and that this is the worst that we see from rider injuries.

Indeed, as you mused earlier on the podcast one doesn't want the action diminished by over-kill penalties. A cash fine is not effective to wealth, even a pit lane start means little to this super star. Perhaps a '3 strikes your out' major penalty? Wince, share you're concern.

Is there a school of thought that says we shouldn't be punishing innocent mistakes at all? If MotoGP riders all became risk averse, the racing wouldn't be very exciting would it? Given the risks associated with crashing and the pressure these guys are under to succeed, it's difficult to envisage a scenario where a crash is instigated deliberately (although if that was the case there would be cause for a punishment).

Consistency... from stewards? (laughs out loud in Formula 1) the only thing consistent about stewards decisions in motor racing or any code of professional sport for that matter, is that they will be inconsistent. For all we know the decisions are political in nature. We are never told the reasons why most times: did they have access to telemetry to show Marc was braking hard as possible and therefore doing everything possible to avoid collision so this then mitigates the circumstances? We don't know. The issue is only a bone of contention because its Marquez, any lesser rider the incident would be forgotten already. But anything Marc does, or doesn't do, incites a strong reaction. Haters gonna hate, supporters gonna cry foul, and Marc will serve the penalty at COTA or wherever he next appears. The more concerning issue for Marc... is another injury. We need to understand, we could be looking at the twilight years of a great champion, yes even at only 30 years of age. Because no one stays dominant, forever. In any sporting code, where one person has been dominant for a number of years we often see what I call, a 'stumble". Accident or injury, poor decisions as to career path; but it's not uncommon for a great champion to have that misfire when they've been at the top of the game, only to lose momentum and never get it back. For Rossi, this was the two years at Ducati robbed him of the chance for that elusive 10th title. For Marquez, that year and a half off with injury may well have robbed him of that 9th title. The mighty rise, and the mighty fall, this is high performance sport at the most extreme level. This sports makes people, and also breaks them. This, is MotoGP.
