Savard as a big time Bruins fan and an even bigger hockey fan. I salute you.Glad to see you feeling well, looking healthy and excited about hockey! Love it buddy. Good stuff.
Thank you for making these videos alot of people tell me that the tape job doesn't matter but after trying all the tape jobs you have showed I noticed I'm playing slightly better thank you ✌✌
Just finished watching all six episodes! So glad to see you, and to have you share this information. I'm going to show this to all my buddies who coach, or have kids in hockey! Wondering if you could maybe give your insight on what makes any particular tape-job, the right one for a winger vs center vs passer vs shooter? Like the baby powder thing from the Gretzky tutorial---what does that do to the puck? Or, like when you talked about Marchand's wooden knob, and how it gives the same feel from stick to stick--that made so much sense. Or, the way Benn holds his stick at the knob, for maximum agility. This kind of insight is really interesting to hear. I've subbed on, and I'm looking forward to more episodes. If you ever start to run out of ideas, what about doing tape-jobs from classic NHL greats?
Marc, that was a great video. You’re very effective at teaching. I wasn’t planning on watching the entire 11 mins, but you kept it interesting until the end. You should do more tutorial videos. Perhaps Hockey IQ, stick handling tips, etc.
Using the thin white athletic tape on the blade has completely shattered my mind. I never even considered it and I prefer a lively feel, so it may do the trick for me. And here I thought I was a hockey 'nerd' yet there is so much more to learn.
Marc I would love to see you do some videos about skates, specifically all of the little custom nuances that different pros like to integrate into their skates. I would find that very interesting.
congrats on the Sportnet gig! Its awesome that someone else is so into tape jobs. We got a broken Matt Karl stick a few years back. It was the most intricate razor thin job I've ever seen. Can you do it?
I think the idea, or at least why I tape toe to heel is so the puck doesn’t cause those annoying ridges/lifts in the tape from the puck itself rather than the ice but I also get your point as well for heel to toe PS please do Sebastian Aho (hurricanes forward)
I've seen that pro stock Ovi before, it's literally bananas. I mark up rubber on my white tape jobs too. It's pretty good at keeping the snow off. What's your opinion on Wax vs no Wax. Stip the bottom w/ wax Ryan O'Reilly style or full wax?
American here. I go heel to toe, too. And most ppl I played with did too. I’m the same way, I can tape blades H to T while doing other things, not looking, etc and it’s perfect….yet going Toe to Heel is something that takes me a while and never seems to be smooth/tight.
Hey Marc love the vids, you should showcase Nikita Gusev (Tampa prospect and plays in the khl) he's got a weird looking one, kinda similar to Pastrnak and you should do a Ryan Johansen and maybe a Kevin Fiala.
For all of the sticks that you have from the actual player can u show their actual curve like what u did with the ovechkin? I’m curious to see what kind of curve they use, like the mcdavid and Kane.
Ryan Smyth would be fun. As would Mikko Koivu, Vinny Prospal (his curve is almost a right angle at the toe) at least in TB - I have one of his pro stock and it's a lie 4 I think, I tried using it, gave up after two shifts...
I tape toe to heel because when you shoot the puck will run off the tape easier because it’s not hitting the ridges it’s going wth the flow of the tape
