Can you show us some of what you consider the worst TJs you’ve seen in your career? Also, it seems like more players tape over the toe than used to. Agree or disagree?
Hey buddy. Loving the tutorials but boys, you were one of the best passers in your time. I’ve been working on my patience and passing but I wanna know more about making sure my passes are crisp and clean
You seriously ought to think about changing the names if the episodes, to 'Keepin' it Tight with Savvy'. Trademark the name, and hopefully when TSN/Sportsnet/NHL notices these, you might have your own segment to make some more $$$. Love the pro-tip at the beginning, too!
you should show us Michael Nylander now since you have his stick, and his other son Alex! I would love to see Taylor Hall too. Love the videos, keep them up!
Watching this makes me wish I still played the game....I watched my dad tape his stick and copied it to a tee. My dad is my hockey hero...My hockey God. Love the videos Marc.
Savvy makes me want to tape em up right now and break into the barn and start sending it. Long time bruins fan. Watch all your videos. Your passion is real brother. Keep up the content. Come out with maybe some videos on tongues in vs out. Some other locker room gems your picked up over the years. Regardless brother you’re the man. Absolute beaut.
Thanks Savvy, loving these. I might have to try out the Marner next week, that looks great. I remember you talking about taping toe to heel a few videos ago - I can't speak for anyone else, but the reason I do mine that way is that when I'm shooting the puck, I want it to roll with the tape instead of against it. Toe to heel lets the overlap flow with the shot.
Thanks for this one! I use Mitch's knob style from last year, but he must have changed it recently. He used to use a very thin, maybe 2 CM thick knob. Would love to see a Laine or Seabrook next...saw a pic online of Seabrook's knob basically upsidedown. Keep em coming Savy.
Savy you are a gem! Keep up the great work! You should start a podcast, you have such a great attitude and are clearly passionate about the game. Hope to see some more projects from you in the future!
Every time i hit a Bruins game i'm wearing his sweater. Best moment game 3 back in 08 against the Habs OT winner never heard the garden louder. Career cut too short.
I think you should do a talk show or an open forum type podcast / youtube series with other former players/ active players. I would love to see pro's discuss hockey and the game in a manner that isn't sensationalized just a level headed discussion of the game and current issues in the game/ league.
Marc, you’ve truly made it now your videos have reached reccy hockey in Scotland 😊 question, I have been putting a strip of tape on the bottom of my blade before taping...is this even necessary then as I’ve not seen you do it once.
Hey Savi love the vids.... this is a account witch I’ve been looking for for years. I PLAY AA minor bantam and am always looking forward for new ideas to tape my twig... could you do a Karlsson and Burns? That would be great and just a question for the vid. How many sticks would you have in your locker for a game!!! Please read on your next vid and thanks again!!! Keep up these awesome vids
Savvy thanks for doing these! Always loved looking at how the pros taped their sticks. I have a suggestion! Kyle Turris. One of the more interesting tape jobs i've seen on the Predators in the past few years. Ryan Johansen also has a beautiful tape job. Thanks again!
Love these videos! I think it would be wicked to see how Kyle Turris does his stick! Also what’s your take on using the plastic tape at the top of your stick mainly the knob so it doesn’t wear out the palms of your gloves
Funny coincidence, I was looking at an old twig at work today and was wondering how it would feel if I took the grinder to it and square off the toe a bit. It will get done.
Any chance you could touch on stick length? I've seen guys like Crosby use shorter sticks however it seems the new younger guys like Matthews and such are using longer sticks, just be interesting to here your point of view. Love the content keep it up!
Hi Savard, I love these tape jobs. Since "hockey is for everyone", please show some goalie stick jobs, I am requesting a Petr Mrazek tape job, lol also if you do a Hasek tape job, make sure you have a lot of tape :-P Malcom Subban though, you'd barely need any ha
You covered black vs white tape, but what about the different sizes? I've seen 24mm, 30mm, and 36mm tapes. My first year of playing, but I've been using 36mm to have as little tape as possible on the blade .. to reduce the weight. It seems weird that NHLers want the extra weight from the thin tapes. Thoughts?
Videos are super interesting, but for the love of everything holy, please start filming landscape. It brings a tear to my eye everytime I start a new video.
In another vid you talk about white vrs black on the blade and how white is better for being able to see the puck but black hides the puck from the goalie. I personally use black and then take a thin piece of white duck tape and lay it on the top so you hide the puck but also get the peripheral vision with the white tape.
