hi, there. I do sing too, but I really could not imagine how Marcelito does it though. I just think that he's got a 5-change gear tool in his vocal chord, insanely amazing! I have been through to many RU-vid reactors, analyzers, music reviews and all that to Pomoy's rendition and it's almost all the same commentaries - almost everyone is strangely reacting - on how does one in a split-seconds time, could change gear that quick, fast and in speed and yet maintain the voice in a calm, relax, vivid and in accord with the rhythm and precision style?...what got me most and blew me away is his cover for Bocelli's voice range! that part slowly and stepladderly covering higher and higher notes... that was incredibly fantastic, and it zapped my hair on my limbs and reacted. Well, in the Philippines music arena right now, he's the only one who can do that "perfectly" flawless... bravo! and yes, i am willing to hit that GOLDEN BUZZER 5 times for Marz!! Keep on following it up with the Philippines' Wish 107.5 bus... I realise this is some months old but I have been told recently by a Philipino friend that Marcelito has a backstory worth noting. He saidthat Marcelito had a poor childhood, his Father was in prison and he was adopted by a policeman, but he was not happy. He left home as a teenager (think he ran away) and survived by selling snacks on the city streets. He learnt to sing and to do the two voice thing to combat the loneliness. He then earnt extra cash singing in cafes and bars. Later he met a girl and fell in love, they married and have now had a baby. Last year he entered Philipinnes Got Talent and won it with a massive vote. I am so happy for him.

To give you a background on the life of Marcelito Pomoy.... he was born and raised from a broken family and ended up being adopted by one of his parents siblings who was a police officer at that time. No adoption papers, he was just fostered in his house. He studied in kindergarten through to his 3rd grade in grade school in a local public school. He was neglected in that family so at a very young age of about 8 years old left the only home he knew and walked the streets of Manila often going for days hungry, doing whatever odd jobs he can do to be able to buy a piece of bread or scraps of food he could find on the streets. All that time he learned to humm and sing to himself. He did so much variety of odd jobs like being a helper in construction sites, mixing cement manually with gravel and water and carrying it to the guys needing to build hollow blocks with cement, etc., selling boiled duck eggs which is a popular delicacy called "Balot" upto the wee hours of dawn, any job an under 12 year old kid could do Marcelito had done it. He would hang around clubs and restaurants and watch in amazement at the talent of the singers' performing while he watched from outside the door. He started singing himself and follow the way he sees the singers sing and thru the years he kept on singing. He was a no read no write kid having left his 3rd year public grade school education to fend for himself and survived all those years. He was in his mid teens, while in several construction sites that he had discovered he could sing both a male and female voice. He honed his skills further and sometime in his late teens or early 20's he was urged by his circle of friends to join a nationwide TV network having a singing competition in Manila. He passed the audition but did not show his full talent until he sang in the competition live and on the air. He won the competition hands down despite so many excellent competitors. He got a record deal with the recording studio arm of the same tv network and the rest is now history. His SUFFERINGS in life I just touched on the surface.... You won't be able to watch his RU-vid videos about his life story coming from Marcelito Pomoy because he is not comfortable talking in conversational American English. He can sing almost all songs in so many different languages with the help of a diction coach but talk to him in English, interview him in English and he would need a translator to assist him. He is very rich now in terms of an average Filipino earning a decent living in manila, he was able to buy a beautiful home and got married to his girlfriend and they have a child now to enrich their married blissful life as a family. He has now returned to school to be more confident in his life but it's still a very long way to go for him. He does an excellent job of emulating the diction, way of delivering of the singers he hears and watches. Hi Jess, your reactions, priceless. Yes he is brilliant, so are the entire crew from wish who sing covers. Can spend hours watching/listening. For christmas here in Australia, its usually hot. But as with most people around the world it is time to be with family, good food and a time for reflection. By the way about getting a dog, look into a Rottweiler, dont smell doggy, dont shed a lot of hair (huskies shed 453days of the year, in other words lots) and are really a big softy, my cat used to beat mine up. He worked cleaning chicken pens in huge chicken farms and sang to the chickens while cleaning their pens and it was while singing to his audience of egg laying chickens that he discovered he could sing both a male and female voice when he was about 18 years old. He honed his skills on his own without any vocal coach to teach him because he couldn't afford to hire one then and after gaining confidence in singing other artists songs copying exactly the singers breathing pattern, diction, way of delivering their songs, etc, joined a Philippines TV network conducting a singing competition in Manila. He passed the audition and went on to the semi finals and grand finals.. He won the competition hands down despite so many excellent competitors. His monetary prize was such a huge amount to him that he never imagined he would be able to own in his lifetime as a grade 3 school educated adult.
