Italy's Marcell Jacobs produced the performance of a lifetime to win the Tokyo 2020 men's 100m final. The Italian was the surprise champion racing from lane three dipping at the line in a time of 9.80 seconds in a new national record at the Tokyo Olympic Stadium.
He beat a quality field including USA's Fred Kerley and Canadian ace Andre de Grasse who picked up the silver and bronze medals.
The Tokyo 2020 Olympic Summer Games are taking place in Japan, from July 23, 2021 to August 8, 2021.

He is suspicious according to me. He broke 10 this year only and now he is running 9.8. This i can't digest. Europeans say Usain Bolt is suspicious coz he was continuously and slowly improving his time from 2007 to 2009. But now some European is dropping time from 10.1 to 9.8 in couple months so he isn't suspicious.

@@Genevasplaytime it's obvious bigger countries will win more medals as they have more athletes. Success isn't measured by numbers of gold medals strictly. It was a successful year for Italy because they won important sport events and in the 100m no one would have ever dreamed of someone from Italy winning anything. It was something that was total unexpected and it generated a lot of buzz. These are the sort of things people will remember... Not how many golds one country had at the end... Comparing him with BOLT is bit unfair.....I think most of the people over here do not even know that BOLT ran in 2004 Olympics and he lost.....but he practiced hard and made himself the GOAT it took him not one or two years but years and years of hard and consistent practice which made him the BEAST....so we should appreciate the Italian Guy who won this event.

But after Athens he trained so hard that he became a sprinter running in 100 m as well in 200 and 400 relay race....it amaze me that how one can transform so much in just 4 years. In a video dedicated to Jacobs' victory I see Bolt, Bolt, Bolt written .. but what does that have to do with it? Bolt was a phenomenon, superior to all. Now we are back to more human levels but Jacobs' victory is undoubtedly deserved .. and a normal time like 9.80 cannot arouse suspicion. He started with the record in 60 m, then 9.95 in May and then always improved up to this 9.80 because he arrived in the moment of maximum physical fitness. That's all. Maybe he bothers because he's not American or Jamaican? Try to be sportier, Marcell only deserves the compliments
