Part 8: • Marcellus Wiley: Kaep ...
Part 1: • Marcellus Wiley on Hav...
----------
In this clip, Marcellus Wiley opened up about the connection between professional sports and crime, with Aaron Hernandez convicted of murder and Chris Johnson being accused of murder-for-hire. Marcellus admitted that he's seen players not be able to leave their rough environments from their childhood in the past once they start getting paid, but he revealed that he "hated" the gangster lifestyle that he had to adapt to while growing up in Compton. Marcellus then warned that if you don't address the violence in your past, it will "leak out" in some way in the future. To hear more, including people setting a "hard reset" amid the pandemic, hit the above clip.

He dropped so many jewels about how ignorant we have become to stay at the bottom. AINT nothing prosperous or Great about the hood, gangs, guns, drugs, murder, death or prison

The answer is not remove any of the stuff you named it about rethinking and feeling the right way about what is there... You can have sets n hoods with colors flying high. But it needs to be a respect. You can sell drugs but you cant try to snake and rat your way into or out of situations, you can have all the guns. But you dont need to worried about anyone coming at you for simply existing... Education is key, once hood ppl learn the system they have power over they can thrive, they can even suffocate the systems feeding on them... Alot of bangers in l.a. live in homes, those all got yards. You can grow ANYTHING in in l.a. pretty much. Just think if you have 6 pounds a year of weed per house in each hood. The amount of money saved. The rivalry goes into whos weeds the best. You cant legally sell it. But you dont have to... Its a big big situation that can happen but Men are going to have to heal from the terror applied to them from every angle. Looking like freeway rick has more freedom than looking like rick ross... But to be smart hurts... And alot of men aint ready to take that kinda pain📥. The gains come after📈
@thcrtn

@TheGschultz i feel you. I wasn't in the most terrible spots but the mentality was there... Stopping people and showing them the good poor is whats gotta be accepted, everyone wanna be rich but aint no jobs... If people learned to grow they own food its better than a job because every day could be a party after some digging n watering... But its hard when you look on t.v. n see ppl who look like you doing things you can only dream of. Harder seeing what stability you do have being taken by the drug habbits. But people only started the drugs because the system failed them.... If they all had 6 pounds of weed a year at less than it cost for a cup of noodles a day they would FEEL alright. And if ur minds good n ur belly is full you really can be ok. But capitalism cant let that go on... So how do you keep those at the bottom strong while holdin up those who shine? You lay the whole thing down n let it go in a circle.

@TheGschultz yes there are enough good paying jobs. The problem is we gotta teach our young brothas and sistas that it's ok to work hard to take care of your family. Stop putting so much value on "stuff" and take care of your family

Part of the problem is that it is glorified in the music that is popularized in minority communities. Music has a major influence on mood and behavior. Hip hop/Rap glorifies the "gangster" lifestyle, the use /distribution of drugs and the demeaning of women. I know there are other factors in play. Gang life is a religion, and it has a god. A few infact. Its just war. And until you understand war you cant understand gangs. Its not the sides. Its the causes the environment the fuel... Go study the art of war. And see how non artistic that hood war is. Go study the start of hiphop. And weeks before it. Then go study present day battlerap. You will see the gods of war AND metal can still feed without a single human life being lost. Its just how smart are you with your energy... I may sound dumb. Gangster is not prison. Gangster is being a smart black man and avoiding prison. Nothing gangster about jail. Gangster is doing it you’re way.

No. Gangster means committing crimes. You can’t take that word and make it positive. It’s not positive at all. What you described is the opposite of gangster.

Once you’ve made it. Once you’ve beat all odds. That’s the time to start committing crimes. That’s my philosophy. I’m so surprised so many follow it.

rgtowns plus hating and disagreeing is two different things homie. I disagree with how he used Chris Johnson’s name and I don’t agree with him misquoting lying whichever word you wanna use on Azie to a known person that doesn’t like him and yet to apologize that the public knows of maybe he corrected this issue behind closed doors 🤷🏾‍♂️
