Stared making fun of the guy cause his ego couldn’t handle that even with 3 rings nobody calls him the goat. Hell when they had nfl top 100 players he wasn’t a foot note. Shannon told a story on the show, that he was at an autograph signing event, and one of the fans asked him to sign a picture with the line: “Skip doesn’t know shit.” Skip laughed and said that Shannon should have signed it. Shannon said, “No way would I sign that. I’m not going to bite the hand that feeds me.” That was about 2 years ago…and it told me everything about Shannon that I needed to know. Shaq is right.

Their employment was directly tied to Skip refusing to accept anyone but them, and then Skip offered the equal amount of praise back to them for their skills and talents. Obviously, you're subtly making it a racial issue. Which is ridiculous, especially considering that Skip's adoptive mother is black.

Chris Carter was on track to be replaced without any gripe with another host because he could only preface everything with how many years he played in the league. Many things are learnable through observation. And constantly prefacing everything gets to be like the old saying of if you have to keep telling everyone that you are the leader, then you're not the leader. Skip resorted to a cheap shot. Yeah friends got at it 100% and stay friends. But they don't resort to cheap shots.

You have to look at it from Fox's point of view not Shannon or Skip's, they were thinking about the long term Shannon and Skip were just not getting along. I Also think they did not like Shannon's constant race baiting, off the air behavior and how he was getting mad at Skip for every little thing he perceived as a slight. Not here to defend Skip's behavior but he did bring Shannon on the show it just makes sense who's side their gonna take. You look at the show now it's not as engaging or entertaining but it's less controversial as well.
