Sup Pawel - it does work, no question, but there are defenses and counters and Eddie is far from the only guy moving BJJ forward. He has not produced an ADCC champion and that has to be the true measure. There has been one twister submission in the UFC and nothing of Eddie's has been really successful in MMA that I am aware of. I thought the fight was more indicative of the time bubble Royler has been living in for the last decade. As Eddie himself observed, Royler had no understanding of what was going on. If you didn't know Eddie's game you might have thought he was losing. My take was that Eddie has aged better than Royler in terms of physical condition and technical evolution.

Ed McGuigan Hi Ed, I totally agree with the statement that 10th planet doesn't have ADCC champions and that says a thing or two about the style, also it's pretty much absent in MMA except occasional robber guarding not leading to any submissions (it's kind of funny because Eddie claims he dropped the Gi training to make his style more efficient for MMA and No Gi), the whole Metamoris event looked more like Royler thought he is going to steamroll Eddie, and didn't bother to do any research no his game, big mistake ;), Eddie used his trade mark techniques on him, if Royler would bather to check them out before the fight it might have looked different, but maybe he wanted a front seat no the 10th plant jj seminary, well he got one ;)

All the fight showed is that Eddie uses modified catch/bjj hybrid the fight also shows what everyone knows about royler I.e his joints are hyper mobile that's why he generally only submits to chokes and not joint locks. People forgot that in that Metamoris fight Eddie didn't win, yeah royler got caught in electric chairs etc but what's the use if you don't finish the sub?

Are you saying they have not produced, as in someone starting from day 1 at 10th planet? If that is the case, then there is more to it than just the style. 10th planet is a young school compared to some of the other schools.Also, it is a really weak argument to use NUMBER OF ADCC CHAMPS as the standard. How many great schools have 0 ADCC champs?

Pawel Wesolowski That's a bad example bc he's game is perfect for Royler's and he did nothing in that fight but throw up back stage. He should have fought Leo Viera who is the guy who beat him at ADCC and the guy that called him out
