El primero de enero de 1959, el pueblo cubano, encabezado por el Movimiento 26 de Julio, derrocó victoriosamente al opresivo gobierno respaldado por Estados Unidos de Fulgencio Batista. Este movimiento, impulsado por líderes revolucionarios, sobre todo Fidel Castro y Che Guevara, jugó un papel fundamental al proyectar la luz del marxismo-leninismo a través de la antigua colonia española al movilizar a las clases bajas en la resistencia contra el sistema capitalista. El grupo eventualmente evolucionaría hacia el Partido Comunista de Cuba, fundado el 3 de octubre de 1956.
On the first of January, 1959, the Cuban people, headed by the 26th of July Movement, victoriously overthrew the oppressive, American-backed government of Fulgencio Batista. This movement, driven by revolutionary leaders, most notably Fidel Castro and Che Guevara, played a pivotal role in shining the light of Marxism-Leninism across the former Spanish colony by mobilising the lower classes into resistance against the Capitalist system. The group would eventually evolve into the Communist Party of Cuba, founded on the 3rd of October, 1956.
