Iroh came by many names , The Prince of the Fire Nation, The Dragon Of The West, A One Man Army, but despite all those names and praises that people gave him it never came between what was really important to him a Father.

Me and my mom would watch this show all the time. My father was very abusive to me and her and growing up, this was something me and her could bond over, and i really got to meet her for the first time laughing and smiling. Learning and crying. This scene always made her cry, Iroh being her favourite character. Now I'm just reminiscing as I listen. Its been a year scents my father murdered her and attempted mine. So this hits home. I seriously want a Last Airbender prequel focused around Iroh,his journeys into the spirit realm,and his son should be voiced by Zukos actor so that it feels similar and nostalgic but still new =]

I think Iroh taught Avatar's fans a lot of lessons. He taught people to take things easy. To be neither prideful nor shameful (the two form a vicious cycle) but rather humble. To separate strength from control, honor from power, and bravery from abuse. To know when to fight and what we're fighting for. To love others unconditionally, while still keeping their best interests and the things they need to change in the front of your mind. To see integrity as the highest form of honor. To understand that being vulnerable is true strength. This scene exemplifies all of that. Iroh has felt pain and sorrow because he didn't heed those teachings in the past. He was violent, arrogant, and unthinking, and his brashness got his son killed. This song serves as a reminder of why this wisdom is important and genuine. It's simple and elegant, and all this context builds up to the emotion that it brings. I didn't think a lofi remix would hit the same notes. I thought it would be a vapid shadow of the original. But I was shocked at how tasteful and true this remix is. It brings out all the emotion of the scene. Wisdom, pain, humility, and vulnerability are captured, and when you mixed Mako's voice back in, I felt everything. Great job.

This song tears me apart every time. I’ve had a rough childhood, and tried to commit suicide. Now, I am in a much better place mentally and emotionally. Every time I hear the song, I could only think of my parents saying ‘Happy Birthday my son, if only I could’ve helped you...’ over my grave and crying. I’m so happy I overcame that dark place in my life and didn’t put my parents through losing a child.

The best TV Show ever made, no GoT or Witcher or Chernobyl or Rick and Morty or Breaking Bad can even compete to Last Air Bender !

I remember as a kid thinking that iroh was evil, at least in the beginning. But rewatching the show now, uncle iron is my favorite.

This hits very close to home. Today is also my mother's birthday, the first one since she unexpectedly died last year. My family visited her tomb today and I came across this. I couldn't stop my tears when Uncle Iroh greeted his son "Happy birthday".

honestly, i think iroh went through the most pain through this series, he lost his son, was betrayed by his own nephew, and much more.. and hes still so laid back about whats happend to him yet hes not afraid to show emotion

My mother committed suicide ( hanged herself) because after 5 years she just could put up with all the stress. Single mom, my dad left when I was just 2 months old. But my mom still did her dam best to support and supply for me. Moving from place to place, house to house cause every where we go ppl had to make things hard for her. So on November 6 2017, I was getting ready for school my mom always leave money for me so I can have lunch, i walk in her room...😢😢 she looked like she was standing while facing the door, I was scared to enter so I turn the lights on and that when I saw her hanging from the ceiling😢😢😢😢. She was the only person I could go to. My older sister tried to take care of me but she couldn't so I had to go in the system . A year later a family friend heard what happen and she came a got me. I've been living with her for 3 years and she's been my mother ever since she took me under her wings.💛

I saw others posting about their lives (I wish them the best.) they have inspired me to tell my tale as well. When I was young I grew up in generaly a nice environment however that soon changed. I had many problems with my uncle to name a few he was addicted to drugs and alcohol and usually moved in with us I first saw him as a friend but with time came a change to his entire personality. He gradually became aggressive with a short temper and explosive reactions. I can remember a time when we were playing and since I won the game he attacked me and got me in a headlock. it would be an exaggeration if I said he made an attempt on my life however it did feel as if he was. in the headlock I couldn’t breath so in a moment of fear the 4 year old me grabbed a rake that was luckily near by and wacked him. I ran with no place to go I returned to my room and hid. I later found out my father had made him leave after hearing the situation if that take wasn’t there I might have been dead. I know this is getting long so I’ll wrap it up. I was an only child of a military father and a racist mother. They loved me and treated me with care. My dad was never home though so I was mainly alone. Later when I was 8 my mother died it devastated me so we moved near family. Barely a year after my grandma of whom I was close to also died please note I was also getting bullied because of my mothers death plus I was so behind in school because California schools ARE SHIT I was practically a retard BUT IM NOT DONE YET with constant harassment from my aunt such would include ( threats kidnap (yes kidnap/abduction) verbal abuse etc) with neglect from my grieving dad it resulting in trauma. Later it was found out during this i has been sucidial (no shit) and had made several attempts on my life aswell I had been found with several mental illnesses. (Here comes the good part) despite this horror I have gone from not knowing how to add in fourth grade to being top of my class pre ap in 8th grade. I have so far overcome EVERY SINGLE GOD DAMN PROBLEM GOD HAS THROWN AT ME AND BECAME STRONGER. Thank you for those who waste their time reading this.
