Have you tried?I've tried it before I saw his video, and taste was perfect.Remindes like mushrooms taste. And ratio is perfect up to one cube per 0,5 liter of milk
I was expecting to learn something new, I clicked on this thumbnail because I figured this remarkable Marco had an ace up his sleeve when making even something so basic as Bechamel sauce! Maybe he knows something that's utilized only in the finest Michelin star-spangled restaurants, oh what could it be? Stock pot. A shitload of stockpot.
I adore this series, but I've never seen Marco so haggard before. It is like the crew woke him up in the early morning and he said "f*ck it" and just went with it.
@@derekjeter3654 Look at it at the end of the video. It's definitely way too watery. Probably because he didn't listen to his own advice and left out the final stock pot.
@@PresidentGas1 A bechamel is milk, roux, onion with cloves, bay leaf, salt, white pepper, and maybe a touch of freshly ground nutmeg. It's not supposed to taste like fucking stock.
So i had never made béchamel sauce and my wife wanted Mac and cheese, so I needed a recipe and I stumbled upon this video, not aware it’s a Stockport advertisement and the memes surrounding it, anyways I follow the recipe, even though I thought it was weird. I did add the stockpot cause I had some already, And it was actually really good, most likely cause of the msg, however my wife said it was one of the best white sauces she ever had
If he wouldn't use the prepackaged stuff, he gonna become a great cook someday, I'm sure about it. Maybe he well get 1 or 2 stars, if he tries hard enough
Im now 100% convinced that the stock pot thing is just a long running joke, why would he put 4 stock pots in a bechamel sauce? Theres no fucking way 🤣🤣
@@MrJiggerify Yeh but, even if they're paying him they wouldn't tell him to put 4 in a cheese sauce. It's like he knows he sold his soul so he's just being ridiculous with it for comic effect.
I think that the younger Marco would have been horrified at the thought of chemically flavoured artificial stock in his cooking, But now sadly he is paid a ton of money to bang out that shite !!!
@@SuzLa1 Nothing wrong with MSG. That myth has been long debunked. MSG is just another form of sodium. Some people are sensitive to it, not me though. However, caffeine absolutely destroys me and gives me migraine headaches. The key to using MSG is very subtle use. It does not take much to enhance the flavor of food with it.
Bullshît! The classic flavours in a béchamel are nutmeg and black pepper. If you don’t include that, it would just be a white sauce. If I were to do a recipe book, I’d put the essential ingredients with an asterisk.
@@DaveDVideoMaker 'Béchamel sauce, also known as white sauce, is a sauce that originated in Italy, later introduced to France, made from a white roux (butter and flour) and milk.' - Wikipedia. While traditionally it does include nutmeg, 'The sauce originally was a veal velouté, with a large amount of cream added.' - Wiki. As MPW says "We live in an age of refinement", Cook to your taste, if you don't like it, don't add it in.
