I watched this interview today because I didn't really know much about Coach Freeman, I walked away impressed and actually looking forward to rooting for the Golden Domers, something I thought I'd never say lol.
Freeman can shock the world in 2 games, beat Oklahoma State in the bowl game this New Years Day then open up with a win at Ohio State next year. Do that and he'll set college football on fire
If he does that Notre Dame will be in the conversation all year for a playoff spot. The Buckeyes just hired the DC from Oklahoma St. so maybe they see the same type of defense in both games lol
Thanks and I agree. Some supporters feel ND’s AD had his hands tied with there being some much early, vocal and widespread support for Freeman. Fans, former players that never played for Freeman(!!!) former Freeman players, former legendary Irish and NFL greats, recruits and of course a clear majority of current players, support staff AND current assistant coaches. The key assistants (we are talking guys who owe their ND jobs to Brian Kelly and at least 1 who’s been with him for over a decade) passed on LSU job offers for HUGE money to stay at ND and with this 35 year old, Marcus Freeman, with no head coaching experience. The 2022 and 2023 recruiting classes are currently ranked 5th and 2nd, respectively and include several commits that would usually not give ND a 2nd look. Yes sir, there’s something different about him and ND just couldn’t take a risk of passing and watching him possibly go on to dominate success elsewhere. His ceiling could be that high.
I know it’s a little different but, lots of the greatest coaches start off very young. Pat summit became the head coach of Tennessee basketball at age 22 when the old coach quit out of nowhere. They didn’t have ANY money she made a couple hundred bucks a month. She built that program literally from the ground up. They didn’t even have money to wash their clothes sometimes. That’s real deal building
@@uclajd Just look at the recruiting at ND since he came in 11 months ago. ND is #5 in 2022 and #2 in 2023 and it’s only going to get better. He’s a players coach and can get his players ready to win big games unlike Kelly. Also, for example, Sean Mcvay had no coaching experience and became head coach for the Rams and look how well he’s doing.
I agree, due to the highest standards in college. ND academics is at another level compared to most places. It's not just about the sport here. We look out for what's after the sport, that matters most.
Notre Dame's highest priority is to hire a 5 Stars Defensive Coordinator Lawrence Taylor, along with a 5 Stars Offensive Coordinator Dan Marino to annually sign five 5 Stars Players and attract 5 Stars transfers from Alabama and Miami and Win the National Championship.
I miss kelly.. How he coaches.. ND is missing him.. 10 players on the feild on the last play of the game is inexcusable! Unless marcus can recruit that much better than kelly.. Kelly would be doing a much better job!
Ken Dorsey can ride in and fix Notre Dame football. Marcus Freeman is largely here because he’s an interim Coach whose career lied in being over promoted and player friendly. Much like Rex Ryan and Canned Chan Gailey.
Let me bring everyone back to reality.. We just hired a guy who will be an" on the job training coach" good for a few teams in the NCAA Notre Dame is NOT one of them..... can you say Train Wreck comin'
If you don’t listen to the full show either podcast or watch live you don’t know how cancerous those segments can be good on the fox team not outing him here
Lincoln Riley, Ryan Day, Kirby Smart etc. First time head coaches can have success and have so recently. The program is in great shape (Doesn't have to rebuild)he's an elite defensive mind, he's an elite recruiter, he's well spoken, the whole locker room loves him. Your lack of experience concerns are valid, but IMO he's a rising star they couldn't afford to lose.
Faust had no college experience, Freeman does. Another thing is that you're talking about a full 40 years ago, when programs like Miami first emerged -- a different landscape. Ask yourself too: How much HC experience did Fickell have when hired by Cinn??
Faust was a high school coach. Freeman coaching college for 10 years. He is a way better recruiter than purple face. Has a top 4 class coming in for 2022,and top 3 class for 2023. Purple face was always ranked 14th 18th for team rankings. That's gonna change with this guy.
GA fan here. Kirby needs to stop doing those stupid Gameday interviews with Saban every time they are about to play. Instead of sitting there getting mind Fd by Saban live on TV he should be with his team concentrating. It’s embarrassing
@@playafly131 😂 Hey man, you don't what might happen next time the teams meet up. Both team have to get through their playoff games first. But Georgia really need an elite QB. That has change everything for Bama since we first got Hurts, then Tua, and now Bryce. Mac wasn't elite, but he could win
@@Raphell28 For sure. Can’t believe it took so long for Bama to do that. We have a walk on kid my goodness. Good luck vs Cinci. I think they’ll be over powered but their coach seems legit so they won’t roll over
Tide players were on thin ice in the Auburn game this year. Anyway when Sark and Venables start to roll, Bama will have some big dogs nipping at their heels, GO KIFFIN & JIMBO.
She made a commitment to God and her husband and should believe and trust to FOLLOW him no matter where he wants to take his family. If a woman is not willing to have that mindset about her husband then she should stay single and do as she pleases. Were talking about the head coach position at THEE 1 AND ONLY NOTRE DAME , so if she said no for her own reasons you would expect him to sit down like a good boy and not back talk momma right ? But I thought he's a LEADER and when does a strong leader wait for his followers order or approval .
