I think this is a great example of a band being "really on that night" as well as every other person involved in the production being at the top of their game.
He's exceedingly good. His and the band's ability and performances embody the saying "Standing on the shoulders of giants". That is, their own talent builds upon the talent of others, producing, in my opinion, the best examples of the past, with exciting new developments. I feel lucky. And in 20 years' time, there'll be new, exciting talent to build upon this youngster's skill, and the skills of others like him.

I don't understand why the people listening/watching didn't applaud more after "One Day She's Here"...!! They do after the next two songs, which are also great... but it baffles me... that they barely acknowledge that amazing opener!! Or is it just me..? LOL!!!
What makes an enduring star and talent isn't guitar ability... It's a fucking awesome voice. We guitar nerds forget that 80 of the music loving population couldn't care less about his super reverb tone. They want melody and smooth articulation, sweet highs and strong lows. From the chords. Vocal cords that is. Take George Benson. How many people know he even plays never mind on such a stellar jazz level. I bought MKs latest album and was disappointed at the lack of blues shred. Now I get it and I've not stopped playing it since.
I just want to call out, that bass player...and drummer, and keyboardist....are absolute studs. Those bass runs, and syncronization with the drummer..etc. World class man. And Marcus is ridiculous. A true virtuoso.

He's among the best blues guitarists alive. Period. And truthfully, he has the chops to be compared to some of the great guitarists throughout history.
This dude just keeps getting stronger and stronger. It’s crazy and so fun to hear, feel and witness, the deeper and deeper levels of soul, and higher levels of musicianship. It’s so nutz.
Always great, and I love it when Marcus builds up to eventually clip the shit outta the vocal... thinking those Rhodes tones are clashing and drowning out the guitar rig though.
