Kelvi Kelv the loop is not responsible for timing, that is the whole bands job truth be told... I’ve heard drummers and bands speed up and slow down while the loop is still playing... It takes practice to lock in, practice produces skill... As I said, this kid, has great timing as well as the others... 👍🏽
After reading the comments i just want to add that I know this drummer personally and this is the same excellence he gives his church WEEKLY. Not showing out. Just giving his best. Great Job STL all day
Yeah we see all the dancing going on...NOT..LIKE I SAY KNOW YOUR CROWD..WHY SO FAST???..ARE THEY IN A MARATHON????.SAINTS CANT EVEN DANCE...MY GOODNESS..SLOW IT DOWN..
Wheew!!!... I Love how the Musicians sit on top of the tempo that’s a real Churchy Drive ...I don’t even know the song but they had that on lock. Being a drummer is so much fun and the chemistry we learn from each other as musicians creates unique ways of playing. I couldn’t get pass the beginning on how the drummer came in🙌🏽....
From the people that know Marcus, and Alex (bass player), and Mike (organ), personally, we know they play like this every week. No exceptions. ESPECIALLY MARCUS!!!!! Marcus never gives anything less than 100 percent. I've seen him sick and still coming to church and playing and will get off the drums and dance in a minute!!!! Some of yall just judging because it got recorded! If nobody recorded it, nobody would care!!! Cause then its "true worship." For people that aren't able to go to these events, this is a blessing for them!
For folks that don’t know about the art of drumming, this dude is killing it in the kit. He is keeping the pocket tight and his fills are a yes in my book and he is on beat. Keep doing your thing on the kit brotha.
I'm loving the fact that black men are in church, playing for the people of God! Great sound, gentlemen! One thing though: where the horns at (live!!)?!👍🏿
Wow! I love the energy! You will definitely learn alot by just watching how everybody is communicating with each other at the band stand , queue signs and everything! The awareness is immense! This group is on fire! Im inspired!
We may be in the last days of 2022 but I'm still enjoying this to this day! This may not mean much to some but I'm gonna try anyway. September 6, 2022, I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. My sugar levels were high enough to either have me in a diabetic coma or dead. I was in the hospital for six days not knowing if I was gonna make it or not. I was in ICU for a day and a half and in a regular room for the remainder of my stay. The last time I played drums was August 27 not knowing I was gonna be a diabetic. There were times that I didn't know if I was gonna play drums again or not although I haven't announced my retirement from playing drums but after coming across this video again, it's time for me to get back into action once again! This remains one of my favorite videos Marcus Lampkin played his heart out on the drums and the one thing I also enjoyed about the video is how the other musicians were on one accord with each other. The chemistry was on point. Let me also add that this is one video I can look at from beginning to end without rewinding or fast forwarding anything! Pray my strength in the Lord and I'm once again sending my love from Chicago!
I don't know the musicians personally but every video I've seen Marcus play the drums, he gives it 100 percent or more. I'm a drummer myself and along with Marcus, the other musicians clicked on all cylinders. This was one of the best professionally played bands I've ever seen! Sending my love to St. Louis from Chicago!
This guys pure Greatness..... I went to his familys Church ova 10 yrs ago and they have the same typea service every time the doors open.... We all jus witnessed greatness touch By God... Once again
Utilizing your gift in the Church is the highest form of honor that you can give to the Lord Jesus Christ!!! Musicians, MAKE THE DECISION TO USE YOUR GIFT FOR GOD'S HONOR AND GLORY!!! Your gift will make room for you in Jesus' Name!!!! (Proverbs 18:16)
Marcus makin this look too easy! Staying in the pocket! That Bass guy! Whew! All the musicians! Bringing us in the presence of God! Love from Cincinnati, Ohio. Blessings!

I first saw this video in 2019 and saw it from beginning to end. I enjoyed it. This is 2022 and I'm still watching it from beginning to end without rewinding and fast forwarding. By the way, I STILL enjoy it! Here is my opinion on this. Marcus Lampkin is one of my favorite drummers and from what I've read in previous videos, this is one way he gives God some praise. There were times he played the drums while sick and at one point, he was bigger than what he is now. If you see him in videos in the past, you will see what I mean. He plays like he has a testimony and he does. He also gives it 100 percent every time so if you see him smacking the drums like how he did in this video, there's a praise and a testimony behind his drumming. As far as the musicians overplaying is concerned, I didn't see any of it here. I've seen musicians overplay the choir before but this didn't happen here. I hope everybody has a prosperous 2022 filled with much love, peace, and blessings! Sending my love from Chicago!
I don't know about y'all but I'm still enjoying this in 2023! I don't watch many videos from beginning to end but this is still one of them that I watch from beginning to end!
Man these comments are hilarious. I can truthfully say, being a drummer and keyboardist myself, this doesn't seem like showing out. I grew up around Quadrius Salters, Jimmy Lee, Joe Piggee, seasoned musicians and this just sounds like greatness to me. Drummer is killing that set.
You are the words and the music You are the song that I sing. You are the melody, You are the harmony. Praises to your name I will sing! You are almighty God, You are the Lord of Lord's, You are the King of all King's! Now I give back to you the song that you gave to me. You are the song that I sing!
Had to watch again. Instead of hating, wont you new drummer starting riding that bell like he's doing on shout music. Seems like he knows when to get in the pocket and when to get out too
