I agree with him. I have sat with the fans and listened to them spew racist rhetoric towards Asian players. They didn't even get the proper ancestry of the Asian player right, not that it matters. THEY get brave when they have numbers and alcohol.

Stroman is a whiny dude. I liked his stuff when he was in Queens but he’s just too narcissistic and drama prone. He’s mad that the Mets didn’t resign him and chose to go for Max over him. Truth is he never wanted to be a Met. He’s always had a hard-on for the Yanks.

As a Mets fan, this disappoints me to hear. I used to genuinely like Stroman, and it feels like since he left he’s just made up reasons to hate us. Most people I knew talked about him with high regard, and agreed that he was a solid pitcher for us.

This is the same guy who was convinced a couple of years ago the Rockies fan yelling for Dinger the mascot was saying the N word. Then he was blocking anyone who tweeted him proof he was calling for the mascot. So yeah, he’s kind of odd. Good pitcher though.

His entire identity revolves around the color of his skin. Im going to take the easy route and assume that he was raised by a single mommy too. Of Course he sees everything through a racist lense. Those people dont have much forethought or critical thinking skills.

I'm a Braves fan who doesn't like Mets fans, but I'm skeptical that Mets fan are any more critical of someone for racial reasons.

I really don't understand why stroman hates us , majority of fans wanted to keep him, and most of them players on the mets were freinds/supporters of him. He can hate me all he wants I don't hate him. He seems to only be able to pitch well against only the mets so he can enjoy being on a subpar team for the rest of his career.

I only know a handful of Mets fans who didn’t want Stroman back, he was a great back of the rotation starter. His one weakness being he could be emotional. I hope Stroman doesn’t take the minority of fans as the norm but I know they can be the loudest and cruelest. I feel like Stroman just likes to play angry and it works for him, so power to him in any way that makes him play angry. But I hope he doesn’t take that hatred to heart.

Stro was my favorite ball player until he turned ultra-woke and started calling everyone racist. Eventually had to unfollow him on twitter because it was making it harder and harder to put all of that aside and respect him has an athlete. He’s a huge role model for a lot of kids and I can only hope that they’ll be able to decipher his good characteristics from the victim antics.

Yeah it’s cool if you celebrate a big outing, but the Mets picked max scherzer over stroman… nothing to do with race but ofc he makes it about that for the drama

As a Blue Jays fan, I can say that we were all glad that we traded away this clown.

There's a reason why the Yankees didn't trade for him or try to sign him in 2019 even though Stroman wanted so badly to play for the Yankees. The Mets weren't even his first choice in NY. He threw the biggest clubhouse tantrum in Toronto after learning he got traded to the Mets. Clubhouse poison right here. If I had to choose between signing a hall of fame caliber pitcher or a career .500 pitcher, i'd take Scherzer and Verlander too.

I loved having stroman pitch for us, but hated all the social media and locker room drama. Wasn't worth lhis handful of good starts, had nothing to do with anyone's skin color. He was on the team at the same time we had Luis Rojas as a manager, kinda pisses on the "white boys only" claim.

Interesting. I went to high-school at pat med on long Island with stroman. He was always a flashy show off guy, all about himself and started trouble with others. Seems to me he still acts like a high-school kid. And as a Mets fan I enjoyed seeing him in the orange and blue. Always wanted him to stay, but now im happy he is on a different team. No other reason other than the drama he brings.

Stro was on my little league team when I was in 6th grade. He looked like he did roids then and got suspended for PEDs in the minors. I know it sounds like a stretch for a child to be taking something but his dad was an absolutely jacked cop and Stro was so good he basically won the championship by himself. Dude would cartwheel while running around the bases. Its funny to see that he is still the exact same personality. I wont say anything bad about him because he made it clear to the world that he's just a clown whose words shouldn't be taken seriously.

I actually think the Mets fanbase is one of the least racist. I remember most fans were in support when the team didn't play in solidarity with BLM after the George Floyd murder. I sincerely don't get what Stroman is talking about.

This just seems funny to me. The Mets had sights on 2022 and Stro was not on their initial resigning list. The Mets proceeded to get other pitchers around the league, such as Scherzer and Bassitt, both of whom are white. That doesn't mean that Uncle Steve is racist, we have a lot of dark-skinned players, and some stars in that as well. Examples include Starling Marte, brought in 2022, Francisco Lindor, brought in 2021, Mark Vientos, brought in 2023, Fransisco Alvarez, brought in 2022, and in the minors, there is Ronny Mauricio. If Uncle Steve was racist, he would have already traded them, but knowing that they have talent, he brought them up (expect Mauricio) and they have done a lot for the Mets this year.
