@@SpaceGorilla46 I know that I'm five years late here, but some of my favorite metal artists have managed to preserve their voices over decades. It's probably not as large a factor as technique.
Thing is every time this comes on the radio everybody knows it word for word... just one of those amazing sounds.. back when people actually played instruments and no computers to stuff with the sound.. love it
WTF? I just watched the original release video and this voice is 95% and I'm not dinging him on the other 5% it's because he's older and has a deeper voice in parts of the song and that is amazing!
Like Prince and Mary Richards, this band led by Minneapolis boys and named for Marcy Open Elementary School showed why Minneapolis art shouldn't be stereotyped as having a lack of eroticism
Hung out with these guys after they played in my home town. The most down to earth real musicians with actual talent you'll EVER meet. Hands fucking down. And they have SO MANY more better songs than this. Probably the best band no one listens to. Shame.
That was just.... .....fuc....ing...outstanding!!!!! I mean I remember, know and just about always sing the song everytime I hear it but this live version was just not what I was expecting. Like others have noted his fender telecaster sounds awesome and judging by the amount of times he looks down at the fret board to play his own song suggests he doesn't play it much or it's a brand new guitar to him. Either way do come out to Oakland/San Francisco and play. Every body else I hear the song around sings it too.
The drummer with drama is great, a guitar simple but effective being a musician myself. I remember the first time I heard it. I just stopped the car and pulled over and had to listen to It. The? Drummer has great shops.Guitar very effective and the base dozens job on seventy five and stole rock and still rocking
Far be it from me to tell him how to play his own song but I really think he should let the chords ring a little more during the chorus. The bass and drums pick up, but he's still strumming muted chord fragments.
This is just as good as the original! The best most unique part of this song, apart from that riff, is the really apathetic way Wozniak sings it. So brilliant.
Hangin' 'round downtown by myself And I had so much time to sit and think about myself And then there she was, like double cherry pie Yeah, there she was Like disco super-fly I smell sex and candy here, mmm Who's that lounging in my chair? Mmm Who's that casting devious stares in my direction? Mama, this surely is a dream, yeah Yeah, mama, this surely is a dream, dig it Hangin' 'round downtown by myself And I've had too much caffeine, and I was thinkin' 'bout myself And then there she was, in platform double suede Yeah, there she was Like disco lemonade I smell sex and candy here, mmm Who's that lounging in my chair? Mmm Who's that casting devious stares in my direction? Mama, this surely is a dream, yeah Yeah, mama, this surely is a dream, dig it Yeah, mama, this surely is a dream, yeah I smell sex and candy here, mmm Who's that lounging in my chair? Mmm Who's that casting devious stares in my direction? Mama, this surely is a dream, yeah Yeah, mama, this surely is a dream, dig it Yeah, mama, this surely is a dream, yeah Yeah, mama, this must be my dream
That's a piece of gold when Marcy playground gave birth to that song they hit on something rare and beautiful it rocks and its own special way I guess you could say I love that song
