An unexpected event lead me to join the gang of volunteers from the BPMRS of taking HST and Class 91 to the Barnards Miniature Railway for their annual diesel gala.
This year the theme was Mardyke and all the Barnards' diesels built by Mr Mardyke were operational during the event. Apart from one which is yet to be restored.
A variety of trains were to operate over the weekend including local trains to Sitooterie and full line trips to the recently extended Angel Green.
