@@gabbyfaith7765yeah, like my mare, sometimes she is my best friend and follows me around, other times she literally charges at me with her ears flat back and nostrils flared threatening to run me over. The worst she's done is bite me, however, she has a very...nippy...reputation.
The "that feels good" is so true. My mare never shows any signs of liking being pet, anywhere. But she does show when she hates it. It's either "ok, whatever" or "I will rip your head off", no in between.
I know a mare who would act like this unless you scratched the inside of her ear. Then she would practically fall into your hand. I often used it to trick her into letting me put the bridle on. Lol
I know a mare who was notorious for not show anything. I was scratchinch her itchy spot on neck, she forgot that ladies don't show emotions and was almost melting. Then she remembered "Wait, I don't like it", pinned her ears and walked away 🤣
0:53 so on point with that! Yesterday I moved a dressage block and it left a imprint in the sand of a triangle and my throughbred gelding freaked a few times at it. Triangles are such monsters!
Our gelding never had a problem with such things, the real problem was that he always wanted to jump things😅 and it didn't got better when he was 28😅 sadly he passed the rainbow bridge in january and we now have 2 mares, even though we searched for geldings🤔
I am a lifelong horseless horse lover and just started volunteering at a cowboy church that has horses for their members to ride. When I realized that ALL their horses were geldings, I asked why. The stallions we have at university all act tought in front of the ladies but at the same time freak of the swallows that have been nesting there SINCE THEY WERE COLTS.
I usually had luck with good behaved stallions, but sometimes there were hilarious situations. Some stallions were jealous at me that I am around mares, so there were those decent (they never tried to hurt me) notices like trying to push me away or nibble like "Hey, those are MY mares, bub!". Of course I never let it to extremes, so I always just slapped his cheeky mouth or pushed back "No, not gonna happen!". That was it, he got the message and we were friends again. It´s funny he looked at me as competition. Another funny thing is, when a stallion tried to bully me, mares who enjoyed my scratching just come around and shooed away him like "Hey, that´s MY human, GET OUTTA HERE!", but of course, it was either alpha mare or those above that stallion. He just stood there and look at us "Hey, that´s unfair" and in the end he was glad I paid him attention after that. Those were hilarious times! xD
Soooo true! I have 2 mares and love how serious and straight thinkers they are. Owned a gelding in the past and he couldn’t figure out why I wanted to turn barrels cause he just wanted to go for a walk and look at everything ugh! This is a very funny video great job 👏🏻 I loved it 🥰
Where I ride, there was a mare who stuck her foot through the gate at feeding time and rattled it. She'd bent the hinges and gotten slightly stuck a couple times. Eventually she was swapped with a different mare who wasn't keeping her weight where she was, and they're both much happier.
This is so true and hilarious 😂 I rode a very obedient mare before though and you wouldn't even have to pull her to walk her and she might've even followed you around, you also barely would have to kick her to get her in a trot while riding! She was so sweet

this is so true cause i have a mare and gelding and the gelding always wants attention and love, the mare is just come on lets ride get this over with and u better feed me. But she can be sweet but hides emotions just like u did in the video.
Very Funny, love the onesie :) I have a gelding and the wife has a mare. No reason it just happened that way. I can so relate to all of your all of your examples. The gelding is my buddy and the mare wants to be the boss. Luckily my wife knows what she is doing and I’m just the newbie.

There are a couple mares where I ride and they are lazy like Geldings omg they are hilarious but the "that feels good but I will not show any emotion" thing and the "hey get away from me" thing is so on point
I love this! I laughed a lot and had to pause it bc I couldn't stop giggling. The part where you came up to Pepper to sniff her and you kicked and squealed at her was definitely my favorite part. And I enjoy your other funny videos a lot and they entertain me but this has to be one of the funniest. I know you didn't ask,but in my opinion geldings are probably the best for new horse owners. Mares can be hard to deal with sometimes,but not every mare is like that.
The mares at our school have a certain charm to them, such that when you've been assigned one for two weeks & the time comes for her to move onto the next person on the rota, you can't help but feel a little bit possessive.
At the barn I ride at, there used to be a gelding named Matrix (rip I loved him so much) and he and his stall neighbor Jagger would stick their heads over their stalls and start shit with any geldings in the cross ties. They were like a gang lmao. There is another horse named Fangio and his stall neighbor is his wife Sophie (Darjeeling) and they are much more chill but if a gelding goes in the cross ties and is facing Sophie, Fangio becomes a bully and nips at them so you have to make their butt face Sophie so Fangio doesn’t catch them making goo-goo eyes at his woman.
And with mares their like I know I did good, but I kicked him because he was too close, I know this from experience😂😂 Being Bucked on a horse, I almost fell off, this was at a camp,VERY awkward , After I said I should be a Bronc rider😂😂, I got bucked twice😂😂
