She could have gone and patroned activities though but she chose not to. Anne keeps herself very busy by working for charities.

However Princess Anne is still thee hardest working royal in the family. I'm very impressed by Anne. King Charles would be in trouble if Anne or Duchess Sophie decided to retire! Both women are of retirement age but enjoy being very active. There is a duality with Margaret in that she could have given up her royal status years ago or be a royal and complete her charity works. Diana and Megan Markle and Sarah Ferguson and Kate were too casual with their duties. They went on a lot of vacations also - vacations from what?

Queen Elizabeth was not the head of the Church of Scotland. The Anglican Church would deny Anne but the Scottish were more lenient? If this is the case then it should have held up for Margaret back then too. Hmmm...

It had been proposed for Margaret to marry Peter Townsend in Scotland because marriage isn’t viewed as a sacrament in the Church of Scotland. However, the Queen’s Privy Council advised the Queen against allowing the marriage to take place due to the fact that Princess Margaret could “theoretically” inherit the throne and if that happened it would make her the head of the Church of England which did not allow remarriage when the first spouse was alive. They told Margaret that she’d have to give up her title and place in the order of succession if she wanted to marry Townsend. She was unwilling to do this. Jump ahead 37 years and, with views changed, Princess Anne was allowed to do what Princess Margaret had been denied.

For Christians adultery is very serious! The Roman Catholic Church and the Protestants and the Evangelical Churches are all in agreement over this one. @@fahimfaisalmahir567no kidding. Wm and Kate openly living together for so long and publicly too was fine and dandy. (Nobody worried about Church advisors not approving either.) Andrew and Fergie doing same in front of their girls for decades. It was more about just times changing.

From what I’ve seen of the show which has been called inaccurate so This may not have been true in the show however Margret always felt useless in the royal family told from a young age after it was announced her sister would be Queen that she would never become queen never have the same status and role of her sister that she Should be content with supporting her from the background with very little to do and would always be seen as the queens sister making her feel her life had no purpose resulting in her feeling useless and inferior and in this scene they are taking away the few duties she actually had making her actually useless and no longer needed in the royal family causing her to become resentful and bitter

And yet Diana must have been relieved because queen Elizabeth may have been protective of Diana and Harry ( and of course the importance of the monarchy ). Revealing the details of Harry's biological father would bring about a flood of questions and answers and then more questions! etc... I personally think Charles is the biological father because James Hewitt said it a couple of times that "when I first met Diana - Harry was almost two years old". Last I read about Hewitt he moved to Spain and if he is the father or not Diana as usual just callously dumped him! I probably answered my own question. LoL 😅. Hmmm...

If this is the truth then "Lady" Diana was not known for her loyalty or devotion as a wife! We constantly read about Charles and Camilla but they were committed to each other!
