23:15 So tedious. The bush burned without being consumed and the virgin conceived but remained a virgin. Simple and basic. No need for the long convolutions.
Hearing this on Feb. 1, vigil of the Feast of the Purification or Our Lady/Presentation of the Infant Christ in the Temple/Candlemas. One of the Vespers antiphons for this feast in the Divine Office (usus antiquior) is this: "In the bush which Moses saw burning yet unconsumed, we recognize the preservation of thy glorious virginity; O Mother of God, intercede for us." Given the opening image Margarita proposed exploring, I was expecting to hear something about this association. Thanks for many other thoughtful insights.
So sorry I missed this yesterday. Very glad you posted the video on RU-vid Have followed Jonathon for a while now and of course faithfully watch the La Scala presentations. The work you are doing to restore beauty and value to the culture is so necessary and important. As JPII warned us, the culture of death is ominously gaining acendancy.
