This song is beautiful! Great that he actually wrote lyrics about what he was concerned with in that point in life instead of pretending to still be a teenager.
Great song. And the CD that that song appeared on, “Don’t Worry About Me,” is equally excellent. Joey went out very strong. And Maria, you’re strong as nails too. Thank you for all you have done, and continue to do.
I chatted with her online a couple times. Didn't believe it was really her at first. She's very cool. But obviously a strong woman and tough interviewer that we need for the weasels in government 😎 💪
What the fuck is wrong with u people posting these obscene comments about her and Joey? Him writing her a song was a sweet gesture you should feel sick trying to portray it as anything more. Wow.
I sat on the left side of the stage with the Ramones playing at the rock and roll Flea Market at the hotel Diplomat in New York City in the late 70s and I was on ABC News at night how about that?😎
I don't know the artist's music except the song about Maria which I heard while watching an episode of 'Lillihammer'. But, why wouldn't he be a good investor? He was obviously a talented musician who sold tens of millions of songs, so he have been very gifted and intelligent in several respects.
She said she couldn't believe that it was Joey Ramone with the Ramones singing about her. It wasn't the Ramones. That was Joey Ramone solo with a backing band. She really was clueless about him.
Anyone in their right mind! would have taken a day off from work if they got a personal invite from Joey Ramone. Not only that he written a song for her!!! My god lady you look at that gift horses throat. And piss it away..
The definitely hooked up. The "We became friendly" is a classy way of saying that. Maria is super cute and classy. Excellent woman. The doing is cool if you like early type punk music. To be honest, it is kind of romantic. I've always liked Maria. Her husband is a lucky man. I imagine she is high maintenance though, but most good things are worth the extra effort 🙂
I read an interview years ago where she said that her brother showed her the song, and she didn t know who Joey or the ramones were, and that she didn't know it was a big deal until her brother raved about it. Now comes this completely different, self serving story where Joey himself told her about it. Which is it?
Exactly...I believe she was surprised and flattered with the song but she had no idea who the Ramones were even after the song. She says that Joey and the Ramones played this at CBGB'S, but I believe it was only Joey and his solo band...
@@jlobiafra Incorrect. According to Joey's brother, Micky, the song is about a girlfriend, who was black and living with Joey, Micky, and his mom in the early 70's (pre-Ramones). The girl's parents hated the idea, and Joey jokingly referred to them as the KKK. They came and "took her away" after a short time that she lived with Joey and his family. Micky has stated this story publicly in comments on the video to the song here on RU-vid.
