Started going to Maria's on 7th and Greenfield back in the late 1950's. A large Special was about $4 and well worth it. Traveled from the North side of Milwaukee to get there for this great treat. Ate there often and also at present location in the 1970's before moving out of state. Best pizza in the world. We went Saturday night and it was fabulous! Love the way the large pizza hangs off the sheet it's baked on. The paint-by-number paintings, the Elvis guitar clocks, the pizza clock hanging in the kitchen, and the religious paintings give the place its own ambiance.
I've been eating this pizza for about 33 years. I no longer can eat any other pizza. I make the 1 1/2 hour drive- one way, to get it. Worth every mile!
Best pizza in Wisconsin. This is an institution. Maria's has been around since the 1950s. They serve a super-thin crust pizza that's as good as it gets. Don't miss Maria's, it's on 51st and Forest Home on da sout side of Milw. It does get very crowded so hit it first thing when they open or perhaps an hour b/f they close.
This pizza is good but was better when Maria was alive. We started noticing how dry it was and wayyy to many spots would be empty....like where'sss the sausage ? last time I went was last year and just ordered double sausage..lol
