Maria is known for her powerful groundstrokes, and in particular her forehand is one of her biggest weapons. She usually uses a semi-western grip and rather hits a flattish ball that goes right through the court. Her swing is classical and her movement is fluid. Russian tennis star Maria Sharapova revealed she was a natural left-hander, who still practices playing with both hands. ... "When I was younger I played more as a lefty, when I was about 10, then I played with both hands, then went right-handed.Thank you Maria for the memories . xoxo
She’s a legend! Despite playing so well and having so many career milestones she obtained the celebrity status which many tennis players don’t have to date. She made tennis interesting to people who are not even interested in the sport. Her brands endorsements and public work speak volumes. Will miss her grunts too 😢❤️
Same to me. The first match of Masha which I watched was in RG2004. I though:"oh, this girl plays well. She definitely achieve something in the next few years." But you know, I was wrong. Just few weeks later, she won Wimbledon. I was surprised and excited. Since then, I became a fan of Masha. I love her. Without Masha, tennis seems boring.
Duc Minh Huynh same with me, I never know about tennis before, even what is ACE, what is groundstrokes anda everything about tennis just such like I know it all from Sharapova. This moment is such heartbreaking, I’m so depressed 😭
All the amazing points Maria has had at the open and they only show 17’ and 18’ and the winning point of 06’. Nice video and I will miss Maria but damn there are so many points from 05’ and 12’ that were amazing. Especially in the semi with Kim.
:'( I will miss her a lot. All the energy she brought to the court was really special. Those backhands, those fist pumps, those dresses and those grunts only me liked since I felt it add it more drama and intensity. Pure entertainment, precise tennis and passion.
We have lost one of the most elegant ladies of tennis. She is such a poised and talented lady. I will sorely miss her on the tennis court. Good luck to her with her start of a new life, other than her tennis. I sincerely wish her the very best.
The history from Maria is fantastic, she was a young girl with a papa and they believes in toptennis. After hard work ...great talent, many respect for this woman and many thx for the fantastic tennis
Maria Sharapova was the greatest tennis player since Martina Navratilova. So graceful and determined. She overcame so many difficult situations to win the Wimdledon title at 17. Beautiful too. GOOD LUCK IN THE FUTURE MARA xxx from Craig in Stocksbrdige near Sheffield England : )
For me, Tennis was Maria Sharapova and Maria Sharapova was tennis. Every tournament would end for me with her exit. I was that much a fan of hers. Waking up early and stay late at night and enjoying every bit of her match. Her way of acknowledging the crowd, her beautiful face, personality, dress, her rituals on the court, her wonderful interviews... My inspiration, for your determination, will and positive attitude and making tennis so interesting and engaging with your comebacks and shrieks and wonderful performances, I miss you on court. I have learnt many things from you. Grateful for everything. 😍❤🙏
I don’t want Maria to retire. Please keep playing Maria, you are way too young to retire from Tennis. You are my favourite and it saddens me that you intend to retire. Now it is your call and no one else’s but I or we want to see you on the court again.

I shall miss all those great matches with Halep / Azarenka and a few others. Maria has gone at the right time - as have a few others - with age and injuries getting the better of her. First the US Open goes to Amazon and then the WTA Tour - and others will follow. Good luck Maria - tennis is over for me now. Hopefully someone will issue a nice DVD assuming Amazon haven't been assigned all the rights to all back-catalogue material.
Congrats Maria on a Amazing career you are great champion and a ultimate professional I wish you all the best on your career after tennis you'll be tremendous in everything you do you are a BEAUTIFUL SMART AMAZING WOMAN 😍✌
@@kevinthunder3375 I thought she was suspended for doping matters, and is my understanding any athlete that is cut doing such is considered a "cheater", Does the name Lance Armstrong says anything to you? :)

Successful career, fame, fortune and of course that beautiful face and body. She has everything. Hope she settles down next and enjoy her life. No more grueling practices, traveling, diets. Congratulations Maria!
Она такая грандиозная, кто так может влюбить в себя миллионы поклонников и привести в теннис стольких людей кого на корт, а кого на матчи в любое время суток к экрану ТВ, Мария Шарапова, великолепная, стильная и красивая теннисистка! 🌾☘️🍃🤗❤👌👍🌹👏🎾😍
Maria is the best tennis Player for ever. She is so amazing and cute. Convalescing from her shoulder injuries, her fighting Spirit and her Iron will werde exemplary
I truly fear for the future of women’s tennis . Sharapova and the Williams sisters are the superstars of the WTA , everyone in the world knows who they are in one way or another . Yes Sharapova has beauty, but she backed it up with her accomplishments. The Williams sisters ate the GOATS , everyone knows they are the best . People come to see all three players play . They are the ones who sell tickets , box office attention etc , I really can’t pick anyone presently who consistently stays at the top of their game or can sell tickets , because truly that’s all that matters , while tennis is a sport, it’s entertainment . I remember Sharapova at the Australian Open first round couple years back , she was first on court for the day , once her matched finished , the next match was two other ladies yet people left the stadium after . Very sad , WTA need superstars like the sharpie or the William sisters . In saying that, congratulations Maria on a fantastic career !
@@johnbreland4146 Halep, Kvitova, Kerber, Muguruza are all in their late 20's/early 30's. Once they retire too I don't think many people will continue watching women's tennis. Unless some real next gen stars breakthrough
