his speech about the ball boys shows perfectly what kind of man he is. No matter the number of titles, he will remain the greatest...at least for me :). nobility, class and honesty are not measured in victories
haha whatever makes yall happy, but he will never be the goat. Just beause someones favorite player may be wawrinka would not make him goat lol. novak and nadal clear of him
Not only did Roger correct the score, the moment he saw Stan trip, he seemed like he purposely hit the backhand out. Like he doesnt want to win with any handouts or flukes or just out of respect for his buddy. A true gentleman Roger is!
@@ronartest7748-- It's very disconcerting. Do you believe, somehow, that a statement like that is an honor to someone of Nadal's character? It's always interesting to me that someone can be a fan of an athlete who is exemplary, gentlemanly, never a braggart nor a bully, and yet, as a fan of theirs chooses to speak for them in a manner they would never condone. Nadal, of all people, would be disappointed.
One of the reasons why Federer is the greatest tennis player of all time is because of his wonderful character - caring, humble, ethical, philanthropic, friendly and a true gentleman!
@@AnkitBhatiaatisn’t that one of reason why Roger is all the more inspiring ? Because he made many young , temperamental players believe that they could be good guys and inspire many others
@@agradina dude what 😂😂 Novak is clear goat nowadays everybody knows it lol….he is better than fed in like everything and also superior to nadal. Like it or not that’s how it is and he is the goat 😁
Its almost like perfect sitcom comedic timing, shot is played, Haase says his line, Roger has perfect comeback, audience laughs, camera goes to umpire pressing 'FAULT' lol
Miss him so very much. It's not only about his tennis but his presence attitude and personality. Miss the grace he brought into the court. It's very painful, hurts a lot not seeing him play.
That last interview!! I mean I already respected and loved this man a lot, but the last clip made me admire him just a bit more. Tennis is just not the same without him
I'm a Rafa fan too! and for a brief period, he was the GOAT if we go by majors. Federer was untouchable besides in the French, but I doubt anybody will surpass Novak. He's earned it. Rooting for Alcaraz now! 😅
The absolute King of Sportsmanship; no one in any other sport has ever or will ever match Rogers courtesy and conduct. The light of tennis dimmed a bit when Roger took his leave, but how fortunate we all are to have watched a true hero during his career. GOAT for sure.
Even if I re-watch Roger's videos in 10 years, I'd still be happy and glad I was lucky enough to see him play, not only at grand slams but also for kids day out and exhibition match.
Funny how the video shows what Verdasco did to a ball boy. As a ref, I can tell you what a player does on court is reflective of his genuine personality. Federer is a great role model to the younger generations.
fr, everyone has a "theoretical best" and an "emotional best" and you can't excuse missing the latter by saying you know the former. Imo your genuine personality is a 25-75 mix of what you theoretically believe and what you end up doing in the moment
But it is about the prizes and achievement otherwise we wouldnt be giving them. He is not the GOAT but I like him very much. Why has to be the goat debate after all....just enjoy
@@dannycarlow8204 yea except alot are ATP 250s lol. Federer has 14 less big titles than Djokovic and more than a year less at no.1. It probably would be 2 years if we account for the rankings freeze and Nole’s ban from US/Australia.
I have always felt that FEDERERISM is a word that can be coined to mean "Laser Focus" ... Like many have said, He is the GOAT for me ... Apart from his talent and elegance, He is such a honour for Tennis ... You can shower every imaginable positive tag on Him and still it won't be enough ... a Class Act and so unique ... BTW, I am a Rafa fan
Tragically, we rarely see this kind of decency, integrity and class from any athlete in any sport these days. If you have a child who is interested in competitive sports, Roger Federer is truly a great role model for how you conduct yourself on and off the court, field, pitch, ice, etc. In this age of end zone celebrations, players routinely posturing and motioning for the fans to cheer them, whining, bickering, tantrums...I fear we shall not see Roger Federer's like again.
Wow. Arguably the greatest tennis player ever asked the ball boy if he dropped the ball and, upon confirmation, didn't argue the call? What exemplary sportsmanship. Get that man some medals. Such humility.
We need far more Federer's in the world. They aren't just playing for themselves either, as much as they might feel they are. They area also setting an example for future generations, something that many of them should take some time to think about before they take the court again.
I have never seen any kind of cold discussion happening with Roger at the net during his entire career n most importantly never heard anyone say sorry at the net . Loved the way he said u don’t ve to . Maybe he perfected his behavior to brand his image but ppl watching him especially a young tennis player ll understand that it’s possible to be successful n yet be nice
I don't think his image directed his behaviour. His behaviour made the image. Even his post match conferences were always so informative; he would break his game down, and wasn't harsh anytime.
just so you know, you're allowed to grow as a person. I'm sure if we went back into your past in 2011 you'd have some skeletons in your closet@@1ena585
Rodger Federer is the greatest tennis player and one of the greatest athletes of all time. To watch his entire career was a privilege. I already miss seeing him on the tour.
What an up-standing guy! Especially what he said about the ball kids. I only follow tennis because my wife watches it, but I recognize great sportsmanship when I see it. No screaming, no yelling, no showmanship. Just played his game...and won...a lot!
That s why he s the goat. Numbers can go up, there will be players with more wins... but noone changed style 3 times like him. No one will have his class.
My favorite tennis player of all time. These examples are a big reason why. I also feel he is the greatest tennis player of all time, but everyone has their own thoughts on that.
That's a human right there....after correcting the score he didn't even let those mumbling pride to enter his brain. Cz he knows what is is made of and where he goes after all this ends. That's a human right there....
On the other hand we can see Verdasco just doing Verdasco things. Like the time he insulted Gasquet and the whole crowd during a match, what an another classy moment it was.
Roger was always the most sportsmanlike player ever. Win or lose he always gave credit to his opponent. Exactly opposite of the excuse driven Serena on the women's side.
goat , i dont know why luck was besides djokovic in saving multiple match points vs federer in grand slams finals because otherwise federer would have had 2 gs more and djoker 2 less until this moment , but i have no doubt that peak federer will beat peak djokovic.
