Inspiration and suffering go side by side for talented people. Boxing is a sport where you can never take anything for granted. To succeed, skill and talent alone is not enough, the will to win is worth much more. She embodies this sentiment, whole heartedly. She has such spirit and drive. Her experience reminds me of a quote by J.Dempsey; “When I was a young fellow I was knocked down plenty. I wanted to stay down, but I couldn’t. I had to collect the two dollars for winning or go hungry. I had to get up. I was one of those hungry fighters. You could have hit me on the chin with a sledgehammer for five dollars. When you haven’t eaten for two days you’ll understand.” She is hungry to strive in an unforgiving sport and to succeed no matter the circumstances. The loses she encounters will only make her a better fighter. She is an inspiration. I wish her god speed and good luck! I look forward to watching her fight in the olympics!
