This wasn't her best performance. She was so nervous but i love the fact that this was 100% live and she is still here singing her face off. I think the cracks wasn't because of her nodules, she was just nervous because you know, people and the media treated her like shit for the past 6 years. It actually made me cry. Twasnt perfect but im happy to see her perform ❤
She admitted it herself that she didn't like this performance. She was so nervous when it comes to performing Live TV. I love it though that she did this LIVE.

Not every of her performance of Mariah Carey is nervous, She only get nervous usually if there is a big event especially if it’s on TV. Not every of her performances in her whole carrier is shaky and she feels nervous. And It’s okay that she was nervouse cuz she handle it well. A living legend that can still fight to her Stage freight.

Celine and Mariah is one of the vocalists has more than 30 years of career. Mistakes and Vocal problem will happen to every singers, that doesn't mean they can't sing anymore or they lost their voice. Come on they are still kill in it. 30 years guys remember that. They are the legends and the only legends!!!!
She prolly had a hard time getting enough air to sustain the notes and belting as she was wearing a corset but hey, she did ok overall. She's MC and definitely an icon so she didn't need to prove herself👍👍👍
From the first note, I knew it'll be a difficult night for her. But I love how she managed to pull through the performance, sometimes even doing really good. Tough the in the office for a legend and she did her best to manage it, gaining respect and avoiding a scandal.
I'm felt so proud after she reminded the world that she is force to be reckoned even 30 years into her career. Hero has saved my life in so many ocassions I love my queen and her flaws have made it even bigger. Her voice is tired, she's been on tour for the past 6 months basically. Hero makes her confident

You could also tell she was nervous before she even said it in her speech. Her voice was shaky, she was sweating. But when you're being honored as an icon i can imagine the pressure to sound good. But its true bc we all study her performances as fans. Her nodes are getting worse. But i will always love and support Mariah. Unparalleled. Often imitated, never duplicated.
This women is so nervous when she has essential performances due to her mistakes in past. Her confidence was lost and she was under pressure. She didn't want to make mistakes anymore so she played safely in this performance. And after performing, she was disappointed and she admitted it.
Definitely was not a bad performance, her whistles were terrific, she might not have sustained that C5 on WBT but she hit it clearly with minimal rasp, and I thought it was amazing, I get chills every time. If she didn't wear a corset and weren't nervous...everyone would have left the billboards bald.
Yeah she can't really sustain those belts like she use to but she sure can still hit them. Never the less she still has a killer voice despite her nodules. I think age comes into this as well, your voice is never going to stay exactly the same after 3 decades of singing we need to appreciate her achievements and what she is capable of doing that is the most important thing.
She even said she wanted fans to see a more relaxed performance she had just got off of tour and her kids birthday was the day before so she didn't get enough rest but we know she still has it😊😊
Here’s the thing with Mariah: she’s crucified if she has a backing track at all. So when she gives a live performance and isn’t perfect, she’s also torn apart. So she can’t really win either way. Obviously she was nervous. It was a huge night for her and all eyes were on this performance. But she does gain confidence and sound better as the performance went on. I agree that she always sounds strong during Hero. I also wish she wasn’t wearing a corset because you can tell she sounded a bit out of breath. These kinds of performances are not her favorite, and I think especially after the incidents over the years she’s let her nerves get the best of her. But she has nothing left to prove. I just wish the public would stop holding her to an absolutely impossible standard of “her old self”. I’m just grateful she still gets on the stage and gives it her all 🦋
She sound great for somebody who been singing 20+ years consecutively without a break! Oh course she’s not gonna sound like 1990 Mariah but she did good 4 her circumstances
Mariah has been singing for ever, I wish she will go an wear a loose dress and let her voice be free. Mariah is an excellent singer and she got a well deserved award. People always keep attacking Mariah, her children were celebrating their 8th birthday , what about a thank you for all the great music she has giving us. I usually only watch her performances from the 90’s like almost every day and never watch her more current performances . So skipping ahead to now it’s kinda painful to watch what happen to her beautiful voice . She’s a legend tho and she still killed it. She has nothing more to prove . Glad she got her award tho. You’re my favorite RU-vid reactor, hands down. You clearly admire and love Mariah a lot but here, you remained objective, while considering the different factors. Many coaches don’t think that she might have been very nervous but you noticed it right away and took it into consideration. Confidence plays a huge part in Mariah’s performances. She's been very comfortable performing with her fans (lambs/lambilies) she's quite nervous with this performance but being a lamb for more than 2 decades i love her.

I agree. This wasn't her best, she knows damn well she could do better that's why she said she "hated it". I know she can do better, but regardless I enjoyed it.
Too much pressure and stress. Lets NOT forget that she’s 49, been in the game over 30 years (it’s insane !), been a singer since her childhood, depressions, NODULES and NERVOUSNESS because on her recent tour her vocals was really good. And her songs are HARD but great reaction ❤️

The honesty is appreciated yeah it wasn’t her best performance but her tour is much better 🤷🏻♂️.I’m just glad she gave it her all and sang it all live some of the newbies wish they could at least hit one of her huge notes. Periodt.
It's not only that she was nervous, she was disappointed because she had problems with her voice and very probably she knows that she has to work more on her voice to make it better again.
I commend my Mimi for braving it out. Even though she rehearsed for this performance or not, no one can really tell how the actual outcome will turn out. I mean, we can imagine how it should sound but like she used to say, 'It is what is.'
I love her but she pushed so much through this performance. I think her nerves definitely played a big part but her nodules as well. There's no denying that her voice is still beautiful regardless.
I think maybe she always does the best on Hero because she wrote it with another singer in mind, so the vocals aren't as complex as in some of her other songs
I'm so happy for her iconic moment that I didn't really paid attention to her flaws in this vocals. I'm happy that everything was completely live, which is way different than usual lol. The live whistle switch up was crazy, the last note in 'we belong together' and the sustained part in 'hero' was great. She's obviously nervous that it caused her with a lot heavier mix, unbalanced larynx position and a poor phrasing. Not her best but still fine. People had too high expectations when it comes to her and it's annoying

It's because she just got off of the caution tour. Because she sounded great on tour, she never had a chance to vocally rest afterwards. Because she's at that age where u really have to take better care of the voice because she has nodules. So she's definitely physically able to do better.

Honestly I’d cut her so much slack. The things she’s done and the songs she’s sung, True Legend, and a force to be reckon with. Although not as strong, she’s passed her prime but her vocals will still be unforgettable
It’s honestly so sad how the general public has been so obsessed and mislead by her constant/previous bad performances that it’s like you guys are expecting a “bad” performance every time she performs. YES this indeed wasn’t her most comfortable performance but if you go back and look at it again and appreciate her effort and her trying then you guys will realize that it wasn’t that bad after all. After 30 fucking years, we shouldn’t expect her vocals to be how they were during daydream Era. But anyways WE all know Mariah can still sing and she doesn’t have to prove a damn thing. Go look at her on touring singing never too far, my all, etc. and to be FAIR this wasn’t that bad of a vocal performance. In fact, it wasn’t bad at all. It’s just wasn’t our standard for mariah and that’s that.
