One sweet day did end up beating it by 16 weeks. Mariah was number 1. Whitney was 1 behind, that is just facts.
Mariah is very underrated. She is the main songwriter on 99% of her music catalog, excluding covers, ofc, and she produced most of them. Just for you know, she wrote 18/19 of her #1's hits, people don't giver her enough credit for the genius she is!

The cool thing about One Sweet Day is that Mariah and Boyz to Men had both written songs about someone close they lost. They brought the two songs together and they mashed up together perfectly to re-work it into one song! Should have won a Grammy! They were robbed!

Mariah Carey in her prime 90s-00s was UNTOUCHABLE. Period. Mariah sang her a$$ off for decades for us and no one seems to appreciate that or show her grace in her current state. It’s sick.

Just a clarifications Wanya and Nathan are not brothers, they share the same last name, but there is no blood relation. Wayna grew upnin Jersey and Nathan grew up with Philly. Wanay actually went to my school and is class of 91...(years before i graduated)

Love Mariah but she is 100 percent lip syncing here. I've heard this song so many times over they years and as great as she can sing live, this is without a doubt the studio recorded vocals.

Most of them have dubbing so the audience and sounds from the audience doesn’t drown out the artists. This was 100 percent live! I’ve seen footage of this performance all over RU-vid that are not professional and it sounds the same if not better than this one. You can hear more resonance and their voices sound as buttery smooth and beautiful as this one. It literally sounds the same. Get a life
