You rest your voice outside of performances not during your performance. Besides every good singer must vocalise daily anyway to keep their voice in shape. It's not like you will hurt your voice by singing live if you got good technique, if anything, in strengthens your vocals. And in Mariah's case, it's clearly not about resting her voice but rather not being able to sing those parts live all together let's be real 😅
It’s the nodules and with the current condition of her voice now, she will still outsing all of us in this comment thread not to mention how miserable we are (in terms of finances and achievements) compared to MC.
@@arielbh0ng She's staying in her comfort zone now a days she's not going above her comfort zone like her prime or MC 1990 when she was hitting them extra high notes. She knows she's a soprano and can hit them notes but doesn't have the confidence she's very nervous. Be for real

I don’t know why she doesn’t but once we all accept this ever-glaring fact, all conversation around Mariah’s actual vocal “health” can stop. Yes she has nodules but she had them all through her prime too, they’re not as debilitating to a concert of 5 octave ballads as not warming up properly is, no matter what she would like us to believe🤷🏽♂️

Maybe you guys havent kept up but shes mentioned many times this year during interviews that shes been working on new things in the studio. Her voice obviously just needs rest bc if you listen to some of her pre recorded recent vocals, her voice sounds amazing.
I think SHE needs to understand that is very disapointed to lipsync, and if she cant handle those songs anymore thats time to REINVENT HERSELF! Put the pitch down and be true to sing whatever she handles insted faking it

Thank for posting these! She looks amazing and i'm not even surprised by lypsyncing... it's magical to identify the parts where she lipsyncs, sound engeniiers please do your best at at least compressing/equalizing the vocals so they would MATCH UP her mic, not hat hard ... anyway, mariah seems to enjoy what she's doing, the energy that's oozing from her is great. Can't wait for a televised version with properly mastered vocals ;-;
I really want this televised special to be on point. I hope she is relaxed, which she isn’t really on TV anymore. And it’s understandable because she gets bashed so much. I am going to DVR it because this will be the first professionally recorded concert we’ve gotten since TAOM. Not counting 2010 Christmas.

Her Make it Happen didn't sound too bad considering the vast majority of the songs were either (a.) Lip Synced (i.e. Emotions and My All) or (b.) Had several gasps and breaks in the melodic line where legato should be readily present.

No, if you listen to night 1, the track is exactly the same. She's added cracks to pre recorded vocals before to give the illusion she's singing live. She lipped the intro, hence why she had her back turned from the audience. Been a lamb since 1990, but I'm not delusional

This wasn’t bad, but it’s nowhere as good as she could be. She should get her nodules removed… and if it’s too risky, at least reduce their size. She’s a multimillionaire, she should just take a year or two off without performing, making all sorts of therapy for her voice, vocal coaching… and then come back with a few performances (not a demanding schedules), in which she sings with just a pianist that follows her, allowing her to sing with the time and the key that she feels comfortable in, allowing her to improvise and be confident… without these backing tracks and the lipped vocals. Just like she did when she sang the art of letting go on Jimmy Fallonn for a few fans in 2014. She should also diversify her catalogue a bit, she has so many other great songs. It’s clear that her musical talent never left, but her voice is too tired and this way of performing is just not the best solution for her

1:40 and 1:48 in Fantasy sounded good. I wish she would sustain some of these attempts longer because she doesn’t realize how good they sound. Then she does some little run to make her voice go lower which sounds weird. Her singing My All pisses me off anymore because I know she can hit those notes but she dodged them.
I love you so much mariah but I just cannot listen to you like this. The playback, her voice is so hoarse. Her falsetto isn't working at all. She's struggling for every note and the difference in quality between her voice and the playback is so startling its not convincing in the slightest. She's just damaging her voice. I fear her voice declining more than this. And if I have to hear 'feel ya bodeh fill ya bodeh baybeh' one more time lord. Please retire my all and emotions for a few years now pls
Stop criticizing her voice. It is tiring to always be watching, all the time that you are detracting from her when she strives to give us the best shows and I think that it is not fair to us that all the time put her down. She knows what her voice hurts her and she doesn't need to be told. A little more empathy and respect for her for the 30-year career that she has of hers and always giving her best. Enough.

Not ballet dancing…it’s actually lyrical/commercial Contemporary..but he’s got more talent in this performance than most on that stage. I love Mariah… but this medley, the lip syncing, the “medley” is just nope.. she needs rest. Her voice when she does sing is just so tired it’s heartbreaking. 😢
@@monochrome3619 nope don’t believe I said that. She CAN be very talent… but also can sound terrible, pitchy and tired. As shown in this clip. I saw her in a private NYC show years ago and was blown away… hence this is sad listening to her sound like this.
@@mrdiarmos8576 but she also doesn’t actively practice how to navigate her singing with her nodules atm. You have to completly reinvent and reapproach your singing at an older age because your muscles are different now, the same old same routine will not work. I love her sm, but I hope she finds a vocal coach to help her with this.

@@manima3140 Pretty much this. I am a Lamb through and THROUGH. But. she needs vocal rehabilitation. She has nodule scarring on BOTH cords and her left vocal cord is split in HALF. 😢. It’ll only get worse unless she gets some serious vocal rehabilitation.
Big energy whatever that song is hideous. It's very questionable that an artist like mariah would be part of it in way but to add it to her concert is just atrocious. Also what's going with all the playback? It also seems like she can't hold a note properly anymore... I mean compare this with 2016. I wonder if she has a manager or anyone that dares to question any of her choices.
Literally it's one of the weakest remixes she has been a part of and that's saying a lot when she's made and been a part of a tremendous amount of great remixes.

I think mariah was trying to appeal to a larger audience hence the duet..latto is an upcoming new artist and has a massive fans..well, i guess one need to adapt to current listeners..its sad to hear her like this but thank God she compensates it with a lot of moving around instead of standing there like a statue

I like Mariah but sorry her voice is nothing like it used to be. This was a descent performance but her voice didnt back her up. We all have our favourite artists but we do need to be fair from time to time and not hear as perfect what isnt!
