Y’all have to remember she is over 50 now. People expect her to sound like her vocally prime yrs in her 20’s smh. She is a living legend and tho vocally has declined as all singers will. She still has solidified herself in music as one of the best singer/songwriters ever. I’d still go to her shows because ,I understand aging(keep living) and appreciate what she’s done for POP/R&B culture.
I agree wholeheartedly, but I think for this particular concert, expectations were especially high because the rehearsal clips were amazing and it's basically the best she sounded in years
idec about that i feel like everyone else’s time got sucked out this year. like charlie puth only did three songs and rosalía four.. everyone had minimum like 15 minutes last year and they barely had 10 this year.
Her vocal circuses may fade with age as any other singers do BUT her unique Mariah tone will live forever and that is what I always look for a singer, the unique tone. Mariah, you will always be a global treasure!

She looks and sounds incredible. Her voice still gives me goose bumps. She's an icon. The Queen came to slay. The mic was ON. She also performed Always be My Baby but I think they cut it for time. Such a talent was simply wasted, devastating picture...full of lip-syncing and bad acting skills, not even talking about very very very mediocre singing. She used to be one of the best, and I kinda know what happened to her - she simply doesn't care anymore, you can clearly see and feel that. If all those stupid comments about "OMG, MARIAH SLAYED" were actually honest here, they would agree with this. you can't say she can't sing, she just can't sing like she did before, but she can nail lower notes (although she nailed we belong together for ex.). Her songs are the most difficult to sing, of course a person at their 50's can't pull it all off. anyways she's shining, she's beautiful, she is happy on stage again and she's the moment ❤️

Honestly its not her age that’s exactly the problem. Age does change your voice, but because shes done so many tours and was releasing back to back albums every 2 years in the 90s. And sang vocally demanding songs from 1990-1996 with no lip syncing or proper rest honestly has had its lasting effect on her voice. Plus her nodules in the past 15 years have really started taking they’re toll on her voice. She has lost so much support, fluidity and agility. She hardly ever used vibrato. She can’t have her nodules removed. She needs vocal surgery and a vocal coach to properly help her to fix her voice. Because its not going to get better if she doesn’t. She has her good days, but shes going to have less good days if she doesn’t seek proper help.
Yall can’t keep blaming age.. Celine & Toni still sound amazing, Patti Labelle just started declining vocally in her 70’s, Dolly Parton still sounds fantastic, Aretha still sounded fantastic in her last years especially when she sung for Barack Obama so I don’t wanna hear the age excuse

Her voice might have been shotty at times, but this is BY FAR the best live set she’s done in a while. I also love the energy and how comfortable she is on stage. I think the stage fright with large crowds is leaving!
This is right! She is a national and worldwide treasure! The voice is not as powerful as in the 90s, but there's been plenty of stress through the years. And we can all take better care of ourselves with exercise and breathing exercises. She still has a beautiful voice. She's a walking, talking work of art, like Whitney and Phyllis Hyman and Diane Reeves. I was so inspired by these women. We need these voices in our lives to put beauty out there. We love you Mariah!
@@Eddo128 If you listen closely you can hear that she switched back and forth between live singing and lip syncing during the climax "the wayyyyyy and then a hero comes along" was lipped and then she switches back to live singing on "with the strength to carry on" for example.

She can still slay the finale of We Belong Together. Lots of haters in here saying it's synced, but she was improvising the notes and you can't improvise when it's synced. If you're looking at the big screen at the side of the stage, it's not accurate because it's about a 1 second delay. When it cuts back to her on stage you can see it's not synced. Stop being haters.
That end part was pre-recorded... auto tuned and trills digitally... ahem... enhanced. But I love that she keeps going! Hero was live though. Actually she is my inspiration so I don't wanna be mean. Cos M keeps trying and so do I. Plus she was forced to sing too high too long in the early days ,,
She may sing in different keys 🎹 but her ability to sing with emotion in any genre of songs is what’s so engaging to me. She sang her songs different and kept me wanting more. Also, When she speaks you can tell she’s intelligent Even though she down plays it, just like her beauty.

A lot of you are commentjng on her voice without knowing the way voice works. You're identifying thete is something off, but don't diagnose what it is. I'm her literal biggest fab. I can however twell she's not at her best here. Her voice HAS come back, but the issue is....her BREATHING TECHNIQUE. When she recorded these songs she was younger and slimmer. Her age and bigger, beautiful self means she needs to do breath work. She does not take in enough air anymore, which makes trying to sing these sustained difficulty notes difficult. She should so pilates, yoga and deep breathing exercises so she's more healthy and less out of breath. With deep intakes of breath, her voice will soar again. Because it is there versatility and tonally-wise. She just needs to BREATHE. She is also incredibly nervous she hates huge concerts with loads of people. Thia makes her not prepare for each song properly breathwise. I think perhaps she cant intake breath as deeply as she used to, in part because her clothing works restrict her chest and lungs. Just loosen up Mariah-your clothes and your mentality. You are the absolute queen. Noone like you, and historically in the top 3 voices of all time in popular music, along with Aretha and Whitney. I wish you knew this yourself and were badass about it. If Aretha is your idol, take some of her attitude. There is no need for you to either be humble, or to not believe in your innate ability. There will never be another Mariah and we are all blessed to have lived contemporarily with you. You are mothfkin badass, and you should not forget that.if you can take the energy you felt when you did the surprise impromptu thing at Jimmy Fallon (he had a conceeept. It showed your vocals have returned to something substantial, but that you merely need to alter your breathing technique to properly provide the bodily infrastructure capable of transmitting dem vocals
