Mariah Carey is the only artist that I specifically remember hearing for the very first time. I remember it so well because I was so blown away by that incredible voice. I became an instant fan and now 30 years later, I'm still a fan and have all of her albums in one format or another. I'm still partial to the early years of vintage Mariah but still think she's an incredible talent.

Oh you are so right! My parents were burn in the era where you work to make money, not to ge happy. I was never encouraged in my vocals or arts. I had to fight to go to art school. Mc was def fortunate as it really makes a difference in believing in yourself and even being healthy.

Del Lunzaga she married Tommy later, that's when the true horror started, he made her look like a 40 year widow in Music Box Era 😂, you can actually see how her shine slowly faded away in the first few years and lit up again in the end of Daydream.
ocandro Ikr! She was told to wear a few things before her marriage to Tommy, but for the most part she seemed to dress the way she wanted. I loved her dresses, it was basically her signature style, and Tommy halted that by dressing her up in a turtle neck and leather trench coat and pants and shoes. Poor Mariah didn’t know how to say no. If Tommy had just let her wear whatever, she wouldn’t have been dressing as provocatively as she does these days (not that there’s anything wrong with that). She did say that since she was forced to wear these clothes for such a long time it made her want to rebel even more, and she did, by showing her body more. She would still have kept her level of maturity that she had here.
That was prior to her intimate relationship with Ex. Executive T. Motolla. By 1992, they started to dress her that will cover her entire shoulders and legs.
