I totally agree mariah is a legend but singing while sitting is not harder or any more challenging than singing while standing up. A singer just has to maintain posture to allow correct breathing.

+2015newyear Even when she sang "i'll be there" she was sitting and had to stand up at some point, i'm just appreciating how amazing she is, and how much of a challenge it actually is to perform a Mariah Carey song, sitting or standing, with the same level of difficulty, quality and technique she displayed during her prime.

Ariana will never....She will never achieve a fraction of Mariah's achievements. Her voice is so thin when she belts and so nasally!! She will never be a legend like Mariah because she hasn't paved a path and made a mark in the industry, she is not a genius songwriter, she is just an imitation, a passing phase. Mariah has $550million dollars and Ariana has Instagram followers LOL. Her dangerous album only sold a measy 1 million while Adele sold 20million in her recent album "25" she..and the album came out the same year HAHAHA.. proof nobody wants to listen her music that much because she doesn't make timeless and meaningful music..She hasn't even won major awards like Grammy and Millenium Artist award for people who sold 100millions records like MJ, Mariah, etc.. Mariah can be more gentle and writes her own songs but when you hear "The Voice" you think power and, though Mariah undoubtedly has that too, that is the one aspect where she does not beat Whitney. Hi Cosmic! Well it’s no mistake that you asked me to listen to your video of this song. I sing as well but not professionally. When I was young I took voice lessons and spent years singing in choirs in middle school and high school. So I learned things about singing. So here is my feedback for you: 1. I think you have A LOT of potential!! 2. If you’re not already taking voice lessons start now. 3. Practice your breathing; singing requires A LOT of breathe work to maintain the correct sounds. 4. And this is something I heard from Elton John when he sang a duet with Sarah Berelis (sp), she did a cover of one of his songs but she didn’t try to sing it exactly the way he sang it she made her own a little bit. So when you sing covers try to add your own interpretation at various points in the song. Not so much that the song is unrecognizable but just your own interpretations. As an example when I sing Sweet emotion by Aerosmith I harmonize up with chorus of the song. 5. It’s really impressive that you put that whole thing together and also sang backup!! Okay that’s everything! Thank you for asking me!
