yall are acting so blind as to why her voice was on fire, she was pregnant with twins & all she did was sleep and do nothing, with hormone changes the vocal chords can get thicker but also she also has more fluid around the chords, the more lubricated the better the quality of sound, she couldnt drink either…..

The thing is, she actually lipsynced the official performance... I don't know why tho. Her voice was clearly on fire that day. Maybe because she's such a perfectionist? Like, she didn't want to mess up in front of the President cause a performer is more relaxed during rehearsals compared to the final one so anything can really happen.
god she sounded very good here, no rasp, she could access her upper belting register with an amazing clear sound. and yet she doesn't seem happy and she chose to lip the climax for the show... :(. why so insecure? she tragically is her worst enemy
For one thing she could access it, but not consistently. In the second rehearsal of this she struggles a bit more. Given Mariah’s anxiety on stage and the televised nature of this performance it makes sense to me why she would lip the climax. I am like 99% it wouldn’t sound as good if she attempted it during the actual performance. We as lambs want her to sing live, but it’s always important to remember that it is a risk for the performer to take. I cherish these rare clips that we do have.
She belted and sustain some notes while freaking pregnant. If you don’t know, it takes more effort to sing while pregnant. And in Mariah’s case, it’s more effort needed since she was pregnant with twins.
