For those who are getting upset and say the band has gotten worse because their music doesn't still sound exactly like this; I've been a fan of theirs since the beginning, not just for their music but for the kind of people they are, their raw talent, their ability to write and produce their music completely on their own, which is rare now days, and their belief that music is an art form, not just entertainment. They're still the same guys writing meaningful lyrics. They just don't like to do the same exact kind of stuff all the time. Someone asked them once why they changed their sound a bit over the years and they said "would you want to wear the same clothes for ten years?" Appreciate them for their art.
PRAISE OML I HAVE BEEN LISTENING TO THEM SINCE FIX ME CAME OUT AND EVEN THOUGH I PEFER THAT TYOE OF MUSIC, THE ASTORIA ALBUM IS STILL ONE OF MY FAVOURITE ALBUMS EVER
+Nichole Wenzel actually not too many people/BANDS DO produce their own bands, not even the big guns! and that's one of the many reasons they are my fav band what amazes! well then again Josh is a total music (with parts of some other the other arts too) prodigy!
Ok so, the first song I heard from them was Wildfire back in 2015 when I was turning 9, and my older sister showed it to me. They've been my favourite band every since then, I've just recently found (been allowed to listen to) their older stuff and I love it all.
Every time I listen to the end of Masterpiece Theatre III I think something sounds very familiar. Then I realize its the beginning of this song. I love how they weave everything together into some of their songs
+Emma Campbell I love that too. It's called 'music themes'. Movies use them a lot, especially with multiple sequels. Josh has a wonderful way with music composition. It's genius for his generation and musical style. The most heartbreaking one for me though is that the bridge of 'Porcelain' was put into part of 'End of an Era' on the newest album and changed the lyrics to match the sadness of the song. He really creates stories with music. The man needs to write a rock musical for Stratford or Broadway...cause I believe he would kill it!
emmacmusic Yes! I love their music and the style. It’s so unique and different from others, one of the reasons why I love them so much! Even in their new album “Phantoms” in The Killing Kind they used a specific part from Astoria and it made the music so much more unique and special. I love how all their songs fit together and how with each album they do something different. Such incredibly creative and talented people!
This is my favorite song by them and I feel many overlook this song. When I'm enduring horrible feelings I listen to this song and it heals me. I feel every emotion that Josh has in this song.
awwh thanks. I've found that listening to someone who understands where you're coming from and has been there as well has been very helpful in dealing with pain
songs like this remind me how much better this band used to be than they are now. the last good song they came out with was "cross my heart" and it makes me sad.
Probably one of their more underrated songs that I don't think I was into when I first heard it, but ended up becoming one of my favorites. _"I won't say anything at all"_
Joshua Ramsay... I just have one thing to say to you. I love you, with everything in me. Your music, your looks, your talent. Imperfect, but beautiful. keep doing you Josh.
He's not speaking metaphorically, Josh suffered from a lot of things, not only a nasty drug addiction, but bulimia and self hard. The earlier songs and albums glorify it more than the new ones.
Still love this band from back when I was a teenager these albums got me thro alot of stuff I even remember my papa getting my the fix me album I played it on repeat for so long lol
wow...I just realized that "I never took you for a trick but sometimes I don't know what you want. I could take it if you need to take it out on someone" in Masterpiece Theater III was from this song! Makes it even more beautiful :)
i honestly love all your songs that I've listened to so far, they just are so different and beautiful... I don't understand now how any of your songs have not been on the radio... thank you for being you, keep being you guys
It kills me EVERY TIME I see Matt pointing at Josh at the end. (3:32) Matts expression is priceless. Love it, love the band, love the song. These guys kick ass.
When I first heard this song I was like ''hmmm don't like it that much'' but now that I am kind of going through some stuff this song is kind what I turn to every time I am felling sad or anything. Love this song so much!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I wish they played this when I saw them in Toronto for Panamania! This song is pretty much my favorite! I love how they're slow in the beginning and go straight into rocking out! Don't get me wrong they still rocked and played a whole ton of my favs like Fallout and All to Myself, but I miss this sort of stuff. Songs in which you could tell the meaning and feel it right away! They're new songs that I've heard are a little too pop rock for my taste, but some of the ones I heard that were gonna be on the new album sounded pretty good, so let's hope for the best!
Aww the old days! just came here after i finished watching the video for Desperate Measures. have to say one of the FEW bands who just keep getting better!
(c) They've truly saved me. I don't think I'd be alive today if it weren't for them. They were there for me when no one else was. But no one understands why this band means to much to me. I'm NOT trying to start a fight with anyone. I come in peace. ;) I'm just trying to defend the band that's been there for me from the beginning. If you guys can't except the fact that they've changed, then just leave your rude comments to yourself and leave this page. Like I said I'm not starting a fight.
Matts face at 3:32 though 😂 I love marianas trench and their music so much. And I love it all because there are aspects of all of it that are amazing. It's simply because they have such a variety that they are all so good. If it was all the same it'd get old and it also can be harder to produce new stuff that is going to be as good as the old stuff.
I just met you guys for my first time the other day! I miss you a lot already! I was nervous for meet and greet at first, but when I met you I wasn't nervous at all, you guys are the nicest people I have ever met! Sunday was the Best day of my life! I am sooo happy I met you guys. I have had a rough couple of years and your music has helped me a lot! When I met you, for the first time in my life I felt safe, loved, accepted, and felt like someone actually cared. I know those are strong words, but it's sooo true! You guys are family to me. Your concerts are the best! Your music is the best, and you deserve to be more popular!
+Charlie Yellove On celebraty status he was a model too. but in a video he say "everyone says oh this was Matt´s idea ! no. that was not my idea at all!!!" but yes he is very cute!!!
I also loved Masterpiece theatre - but POP101 is REALLY too much.... I hope there are two (at least) love songs on the new record... Because I love them and it's really a pitty. They used to be SO DAMN GOOD.
***** Pop 101 was just a mess-around song made as a joke, Josh even laughs at the end because of it. xD though it's weird that it's supposed to be the name of the new album..
I just love how these guys don't take themselves too seriously. They're always having fun and look like they genuinely enjoy what they do. These qualities are what makes them amazingly addictive!!!! ♥
+Emilio Velazquez Simple...they created real art. Beiber fans aren't looking for art, they want meaningless drivel they can aimlessly bop their heads to, all the while looking at a pretty face.
I love the old and I love the new. I think this band is so versatile and talented that I will always find their stuff just as entertaining and wonderful, no matter when they release it. Keep writing, producing, singing and performing!
do you think a couple years later ian just went like "only one of us can keep the fro in the band, man" and mike lost a bet or something so he had to let go
chloerzzx3 (that was my old accout that made that comment) thats my exact point XD I find it amazing that theyre made by the same band seeing how different the style is
