I've watched like pretty much ALL of the Marie-Kondo-tidying-up-American-talk-show-and-media-personalities clips by now and this is by far my fave!! You and her had such good chemistry! This is the most relaxed/candid I've seen her be so far. Kudos!

As a language teacher I would like to give claps to Ashley . Marie has said in various interviews that she is learning English. I thought the interviewer did a very nice job of speaking clearly, enunciating, paying attention to Marie and her interpreter and just in general, was very thoughtful. Not everyone does well with an interviewer. They often forget to leave time for translation or have trouble not focusing on both people instead of just one. It's actually slightly more complicated than people would think. It takes twice as long to get through questions, and a bit more patience to wait for replies and so on (something that people may realize, since it is usually edited out often through the power of video magic). Anyway, Ashley thank you. Your kindness Sparked Joy for me.
This is one of the best interactions I've seen with Marie. So many hosts talk over her to self-promote and to highlight their jokes. Even though this is normal for comedians it makes the interview seem like a waste of time. This episode highlighted Marie and her personality. Well done! PS. Translator was awesome too!
Actually, the right word is “interpreter” and not translator!!! Interpreters are the ones who work with spoken and not written language :-) but I agree with your comment completely!!! Such a lovely video.
I think Marie receives so much unfair hate from people who either somehow feel offended by the idea of cleaning or misunderstand her method. (Ex: She never says you have to get rid of anything you love, or only own a certain number.) She is so positive and polite, and her mindset of feeling gratefulness and love for everything you own has been really healthy for me. If you don't like her sorting/organization method, then just don't do it. I don't understand why people feel so threatened by her.
Not to mention she totally specifies that if all 200 of your shoe collection brings you joy, it's something you can count to keeping. Like this method is super flexible and takes care of both practical and emotional kinds of validation that people from multiple backgrounds can utilize to strip preconceptions, guilt and pain out of their cleaning. Like what's wrong with that?
@@MetanteiTriforce also by really thinking about whether something sparks joy for you can give you a moment of vulnerability and clarity which are uncomfortable for many people. I think she's a breath of fresh air and I love the fact that her method is nonjudgmental and holistic.

In her spare time, Marie Kondo is actually a serial killer. She leaves bodies in her wake, with their body parts all neatly arranged at the murder scene. Her calling card. She will approach you when you are sleeping or facing the other way, then proceeds to stab you repeatedly, all the while saying “THIS SPARKS JOY IN ME”
Buzzfeed nifty treated Marie very well! I’ve seen talkshow hosts recently who most likely don’t understand that she doesn’t get sarcasm and treat her not very well. This was wonderful!
Small note but even with the language barrier, watching them face each other and engaging as though there was nothing different was so nice, and marie you give off such an uplifting vibe🦋

Why people hating on her cuteness act? I find it very refreshing for an adult. I prefer her than to meet with gloomy, pretentious adult who knows everything and can't admit they are wrong.
Well it's good she doesn't know about everything in the pop music world. The song isn't that good either...the message is ok...empowering in a way but not a good song.just an opinion.she has more important things to do than that.mari is a ball of positivity by the way.

It is not dubbed if I am not mistaken, it is the interpreter talking (in a mic that's why we can hear her, they just cutted the sound when she speaks Japanese)

Make sure every item: 1.- Meditate if it sparks joy 2.- Meditate if its esential for your dreamed lifestyle or dreamed space. 3.- Make sure it always has a home! If you love all your pens its because owning them brings you joy! If you love them this much make sure to make a home for all of them together, just like a family. :)

Marie has inspired me so much! I've been watching her show since it came out on Netflix and read her book and just started my own "KonMari" journey yesterday! Finished my clothes! I got so inspired I'm recording the whole thing and gonna post it when I'm finished to prove that if I can do it, anyone can! Thank you Marie Kondo for helping me in more way's than you could have possibly imagined!!!

She's Japanese, and they're very private when it comes to their homes and family lives. She might give a tour of her office, but I seriously doubt if she'd show her house.

I just did this tidying method in my room. I was about to give up cauz it is too difficult and tiring but I m glad I did it. It excites me to go home early now because my room just gives off this happy aura.
I apply her tidying up technique. It's really good for your mood and productivity. Even as an illustrator who has a lot of art stuff, but her method really suits me. I love her ❤

Props to Marie’s interpreter! Not many does a job like her. I have been in many situations where I had to simultaneously translate but I was constantly frustrated how some people didn’t leave time for translation or just took translations as granted when in reality, it is still human work (not computer automated).
Totally agree! I was wondering if it bothers someone else too. There is no idea of having both dubbing and subtitles.(not sure if it's dubbed or its the interpretation, still it sounds bad) In this case subtitles is the best option. In the worth it series they didn't dub even though in some episodes there were other languages than English, for example Japanese. Original languages are always better compared to dubbing. I would rather watch this without audio, but I can't because it isn't subtitled totally.
Solana Avila Unfortunately I think with the interpretation it’s kind of necessary - the interpreter translates in real time, so it can be kind of hard to pick out the English from the Japanese, especially if you auditory processing issues. I think it’s nice to have both the English and the subtitles available tho - in case someone is hard of hearing or visually impaired - then everyone can enjoy it!
It's so bad! One of the most amazing parts of Marie Kondo during her late night appearances was listening to her speak Japanese and just be so mesmerizing even though you don't understand a word she says! Not only that, but why does the interpreter have subtitles but not the interviewer? Makes it seem like English speakers can't understand a foreigner speaking English with a perfectly understandable accent just because they're a foreigner. Just so many wrong points.
The basic of being organized is not to keep needless stuff, but it’s the hardest part since you have to keep track of the stuff you have.. and constantly check like recording inventories....
